As rain lightly fell towards the street floor, footsteps were heard. A small puddle was pushed up as a foot cut the water around it. The foot wore a brownish colored shoe, and the legs who carried this foot had a grey with black checkerboarded pants design. Moving up from the legs, a black belt with a silver buckle was seen. Upon moving further up, a red overcoat with a white undershirt and black tie was found on a young man with white hair. This was Ryuga Shinsokai, a transfer student for Hyakkaou Private Academy. Soon, many more students wearing the same uniform came running past him, but he, under his umbrella, continued to walk.
In front of him, Ryuga could see Yumeko and Suzui talking. He, cautiously, walked past them, not wanting to draw attention. However, as if by an uncanny fate, Yumeko caught a glimpse of him and called out.
Yumeko: "Oh! Ryuga, good morning!"
Sighing, with his back turned towards them, he replied with the best monotone he could come up with. Before he talked, however, he reached out from under his umbrella to feel the rain, giving the false impression of some emotion.
Ryuga: "It is a good morning. You're correct." He paused for a moment, then kept on walking.
Yumeko: "I'll see you in class then!"
She waved towards him, not that he could see it. After that, she kept talking to Suzui.
Once Ryuga entered the classroom, he saw Mary standing in front of her desk. On her desk, laid a variety of ominous objects. One such object was a doll that looked similar to Mary, although it had its head removed. The desk also had graffiti all over, with some pretty nasty words. It also had Mary's new tag with the name "Kitty" on it. Lastly, a boxcutter was stuck into the desk.
Ryuga walked over to Mary's desk and picked up the box cutter. It was now when Yumeko and Suzui arrived and saw what had happened. Once he removed the box cutter from the desk, an angry student spoke up.
Student: "Hey! That's for the kitten! Put it back."
The female spoke out in a harsh tone, but Ryuga looked her in the eyes and held up the box cutter.
Ryuga: "Do you really want to be saying that to the one holding the sharp object?"
His eyes looked sharper than the weapon, and the female slightly recoiled in fear.
Ryuga: "This isn't safe, which is why I'm removing it. Don't, by any means, think that I'm helping a kitten. I just don't want to be cut by a flying box cutter."
He walked to a corner of the room and threw the box cutter into the trash can. After hearing his words, the students backed down and Ryuga sat in his chair. It was after this happened that Yumeko ran over to Mary, with a concerned look on her face.
Yumeko: "What could this be? Are you being bullie-?"
Mary: "Shut up!" She shoved the collar near Yumeko's face. "This is all because I lost that game to you!"
She grew angrier as the students urged her to put on her collar, and repeatedly chanted the words "Kitty". After reluctantly putting on her collar, Mary sat down, and the teacher soon entered the room. Class began normally as if the teacher was expecting Mary to be treated like that.
After lunch had begun, Ryuga was eating alone. His meal consisted of green tea, curry, and a small salad. He purposely sat away from the others, not wanting to have to talk to people. He was surprised when a tray slammed down on the opposite side of the desk. He looked up to see an angry Mary Saotome staring at him. Figuring he couldn't get out of the situation so easily, he decided to address her.
