Chapter 6: A Dire Situation

As Ryuga walked further from the Student Council Room, his chance at Kirari's amazing offer grew shorter and shorter. However, he already got what he wanted from his little gamble with Kirari. Now, he would not have to worry about someone taking advantage of the fact that Yumeko was a pet. He sighed in relief, being glad that he helped Yumeko out. 

Ryuga turned the hallway corner to walk back to his class but was surprised that it was already lunch. Students were hurrying to the cafeteria, and Ryuga pondered how much time he was with Kirari.

Ryuga: "Guess I spent quite some time there."

???: "My, it looks like you and the Student Council President had fun with your gamble."

Ryuga quickly turned around to find Yumeko smiling at him, as she normally did. He found it unsettling how she could always sneak up on him. Ryuga, curious as to what she was talking about, followed her eyes down to his uniform. His uniform was wrinkled and messy, indicating that it had just been taken off and put on quickly. Fearing the results of her misunderstanding, Ryuga tried to explain it as best as he could.

Ryuga: "It's not what you think, Ms. Jabami."

Yumeko: "Oh? Is it not? I was just thinking that you had to take off your coat, to show that you weren't planning on cheating. If it is not what I'm thinking, then do tell me; what is it?" Ryuga looked surprised.

Ryuga: "Nevermind, it's exactly what you think it is."

Yumeko chuckled a little bit, then closed in on Ryuga. She took his hands with hers, just as she liked to do, and smiled at him.

Yumeko: "Won't you tell me the details of your gamble with the Student Council President?"

Ryuga: "Hmm, it's probably just as you expected. I won, of course."

Yumeko: "Oh my, to win against Kirari, that's a pretty big feat. I'm sure the entire school will be interested in hearing that." Ryuga put his hand up, as if to shush Yumeko, and looked around.

Ryuga: "Quiet will you! That's the exact opposite of what I want to happen."

???: "What's the exact opposite of what you want to happen?"

Ryuga quickly stepped to the side and looked behind him to find Mary Saotome standing there, with her arms crossed. As soon as Mary saw Yumeko holding Ryuga's hands, she made a disgusted face.

Mary: "Ew. Can't you two show your affection somewhere else?"

Yumeko chuckled and reached one hand out to Mary.

Yumeko: "Would you like to join us, Mary?"

Mary blushed, and Ryuga looked at Yumeko, baffled. However, his look of confusion soon turned serious as he started analyzing the situation. He put a hand on his chin as he looked between Yumeko and Mary. After a little bit of this, his eyes stayed on Mary's. Mary drew back a little bit, frightened by the lascivious face Ryuga was making. 

Ryuga: "That's a great idea, Ms. Jabami. What do you say, Mary? Would you like to join us?"

Yumeko and Ryuga's faces morphed into creepy smiles as Mary felt like she was being surrounded by them. She grabbed her head and yelled at them.

Mary: "Ah! I can't stand you two! Fine, I'll join! Stop pestering me already, idiots!"

Ryuga and Yumeko both started laughing quietly, disturbing Mary. 

Mary: "What? What? What's so funny? What exactly am I joining?"

Yumeko: "Oh nothing, we were just talking about Ryuga's gamble with Kirari." Mary gasped.
