Chapter 2- Running straight to them

  I put Eli in my car and drove as fast as i could to my house. I had sometime since Dina had no clue where i lived. picking up Eli then running to the house i told him to back some things. 

"mom whats happening?" he asked scared. "we need to go on a vaction for a little way okay. finish packing you bags baby" i answered then ran to my room grabbing clothes, money, everything we needed and even grabbed my mothers wedding dress. 

I heard sirens outside i looked quickly and couldn't see any cars.  I had an old truck in my garage that used to be my dads. Quickly putting our stuff in the truck and Eli in the front seat. i took off out of down. My breathe caught in my throat as we passed speeding cop cars that were no doubt heading to my house they probably got my address from work. I had Eli ducked down and i used my hair to cover my face as best as I could. It seemed to work since we got out of town with out being seen.

I been driving for 2 days with no idea where I'm going. Stopping only to sell dads truck for a different one which broke my heart but it was to risky to keep it, We also stop for food and other supplies. "Mom when can we stop I have to pee and I want real food not chips" Eli Complained. I sighed then see a diner up the road. I told him we would stop quickly for a bite to eat. which made Eli cheer. 

When we walked into the diner I chose the booth closer to the door. The waitress came and served us quickly. Eli Talked about our new home saying he wanted a farm with lots of animals and most importantly a dog. I Laughed as the waitress came with are food. "Hamburger and fries for you ma'am" she placing the food in front of me. "and for you little man I have dino nuggets and fries" then putting the food in front of Eli making him pout. "I'm big not little" he sassed the waitress she laughed "yes of course you are, I'm sorry. she giggle as Eli nodded then she walked away. 

Half away though Our Meal the tv that was in the corner caught my attention. "2 days ago a women by the name of Adabelle Dacey attacked the home of Dean carter and Dina Dacey, killing dean. She believes to be on the run with 5 year old Eli Dacey" said the news anchor. I stopped listening and grabbed Eli putting money on the table. Calming walking out of the diner but not before the waitress looked at the tv then back at us her mouth dropped then she quickly grabbed the phone. 

Fuck I thought as I rushed Eli out the door into the truck and took off. "mom why are we running" ask Eli. "Mommy did a bad thing by attacking Dean baby. Now the cops want to take me to jail" I said honestly not wanting to lie

"You saved me. please Don't let them take you away mom they will take me back to the bad house" he cried. "I wont baby I promise ill keep you save" just has a said those words I seen lights in the distance behind us. I quickly took a right off onto a side road then a left then a right, I turned so many times trying to make sure the cops couldn't follow us I ended up getting lost I drove on gravel roads for about an hour until I passed a cute farm house with a barn and cows in a field near by it looked so full of life and peaceful. 

My thoughts came to a stop when Eli screamed mom. I looked ahead slowing down to see a man beating a teenage boy. I stopped the car stepping "Eli locked the door and duck down don't open the door for anyone but me" I said he nodded with tears in his eyes I shut the door he locked it and hid. 

I ran to the man pulling him off the teenage boy. I grabbed the gun that was lying in the dirt and stood in front of the nameless boy. Pointing the gun as the man "listen you do understand he attacked me" the man claimed. "Really cause if looked like an asshole beating a helpless kids to death" I said gripping the gun tighter.  "Listen here you bitch" he said the lunged forward making me pull the trigger in panic. The man dropped to the ground before I could check on the boy behind me I heard running coming towards us I turned raising the gun. 

"Easy there" said a older man raising his hand. I took a second to look at him he had to be just under 6 feet tall brown hair old eyes and looked to be in his early 60s. 2 men stood still behind him. 1 Appeared early 20s gentle face lighter hair and blue eyes slightly taller then the old man.  My breathe caught in my throat as I made eye contacted with the third man He was easily over 6.2ft darker hair Intense blue eyes that followed my every move. 

I felt a touch on my leg looked to see the bloody boy. "its okay" he said weakly I kept the gun of the men in front of me. "how do you know" I asked. 

"They're My family" he said. I lowered my gun little did I know that would be my biggest mistake.
