Ch. 3

He is so confusing. Why would he reel me in like this and then have the balls to love someone right infront of me? What the hell am I to talk, we arent even dating.

"Marley, what are you doing?" Kendal acompanies me on the balcony.

"Just...Thinking." I reply. I hope she doesn't suspect anything...

"I need alittle dose of that right now aswell," she sets down her water, "Are you going to dinner tonight?"

"Yeah, you?" I ask.

"Yeah, I really want to meet all of their 'Girlfriends'." she says

"Do you think they actually love them, or do you think managment just uses it as a magazine label?"

"Eh, a little bit of both." she replys

"Girls were leaving in 10 minutes if your coming to dinner!" Todd, our boss, yells out the door.

"Alright, lets get this show on the road." Kendal jokes and i force a smile.

We arrive to this overly fancy resturaunt and I immediatly feel underdressed. My black skater skirt with a white crop top and white converse are a little unformal compared to a lady in a long, elligent red dress.

"You look lovely, Marley." Ashton pulls me out of my thoughts. I turn around and melt at the way his eyes gaze into mine, his lips pull into a smile.

"Thanks Ashton." I smile "So is Linsey here? I'm dying to meet her!" I lie. This is hard.

"She isnt here yet, but she promised to be here so," He unconfidently smiles and fiddles with his loose curls.

"Great, well I'm going to go find a seat." I smile and nod and walk towards the table.

I sit next at the end of the table next to Kendal. Ashton sits across from me, just my luck. Pretty soon everyone sits down and decides what to eat.

"Hi, my name is Jennifer, I'll be taking care of you all tonight. Can I start you all off with something to drink?" The annoying waitress asks. 

I order a water and everyone else orders alcohol of some sort except for Ashton. He gets water aswell.

"Well if Linsey doesn't show up, I'll just call you my date" He says to me and pushes out a small laugh.

"I'm sure she'll come, don't worry." I assure him even though I know she wont come. She never comes to anything.

He shrugs his shoulders and takes a drink of his water. I honestly feel bad for him. He pours his heart and soul into that girl and she doesn't do anything for him.

"Ashton!" A voice squeals from across the resturaunt. It's Linsey.

"Linsey I thought you weren't coming!" Ashton rushes over to her and hugs her, sweeping her off her feet and spinning around. 

They make their way over to the table. I fake a smile at Linsey as she examines me and Kendal. 

"They are the bands hair and make up people." He introduces us and we both smile.

"Oh nice." She says and sits down. 

Soon our food comes and everyone starts eating. Ashton and Linsey are nonstop all over each other, well atleast he is. She is mostly on her phone not paying attention until he brings up buying her something.

"I missed you so much Linsey, I love you." Ashton tells her looking straight into her eyes.

"I love you too, Ash." She says and then they kiss. Ashton puts his hand on her cheeks.

Something in me just breaks and I feel sick. I get up to go to the bathroom, "I'm sorry, I think something in the food is messing with my stomach." I say way too fast and turn around quickly to go to the bathroom. I can feel the tears building up. 

Why am I crying over a guy who isn't even mine? It's so dumb. Maybe I should find myself a guy to distract me, but I couldn't because there are no guys like him. 

I sit on the toilet in a stall and just let the tears fall. Then I hear the door creak open, "Marley? Are you in here?" It's Linsey.

I wipe my eyes and walk out of the stall, "Yeah, I'm okay."

"Aw, I'm sorry hun." She rubs my back. It makes my skin crawl, shes so gross. She looks like a hooker, and even smells like one tonight.

"Thanks, Ashton must really like you." I say

"Yeah, it's kind of annoying." She laughs

Something in me automatically defends him, "What do you mean annoying?" I ask

"You don't know?" She asks and I shake my head, "Well me and Ashton have to 'date' for attention. How else would 5 seconds of Summer make it if I wasn't dating one of them? I don't even really like him, but I guess 30,000 dollars a month is worth it." She half laughs.

I am completely disgusted and I can tell by the look on her face that I'm showing it. How could she do that to an innocent guy like him?

"Well, I assume he doesn't know this?" I ask

"Hell no. He would be heart broken." She says and makes a sad face.

"I'm going to go back out, I feel alittle better." I say and leave. I don't even say thank you because she really doesn't deserve it. 

I walk back to my seat and watch as Ashtons eyes glow as he watches Linsey walk to the table.

I cannot believe this.
