Glados and Chell are now thirteen years old. They are completely inseparable, and nothing could separate them at all. No matter what happened. Or so they thought...
Anyways, Glados just needed to tell her father and mother something important, but Cave was ranting again and it isn't usually a good time when he rants. He usually yells and gets upset. Glados just walked in and him and her mom both turn to look at her.
"What do you need?" Caroline asked her patiently.
"Oh um... I just needed to tell you guys something but... I guess it can wait for now..." Glados turned around and walked out the door to her room. She covered herself in her blankets and starred off.
She was going to ask them if they had any idea about the new A.I because if she heard it from them, then maybe she would be able to calm down. She was so worried about it that that is all she thinks of constantly. She always ends up crying because of how scared she is about the A.I.
Not very surprisingly, she started to feel big crocodile tears well up in her eyes. She didn't know what to do anymore. It wasn't in her control. This is too much for her to handle.
She let out a few sobs and couldn't control it after that. She shoved her face down into her pillow and cried loudly into it. She was like that even when her mom came into her room to calm her down and ask what's wrong.
"You wouldn't understand it." Glados said between sobs, not being able to catch her breath.
Caroline hugged Glados close to her and rubbed her back, "Calm down. Take deep breaths."
Glados eventually calmed down enough and was only sniffling a little bit now.
"Now, what's wrong?" Caroline said with concern.
Glados explained all the things about the A.I and Caroline seemed to be confused about what she was talking about, "What are you talking about an A.I? We weren't even planning on making robots?" Caroline says confused.
Glados knows that she is telling her the truth because she always tells her the truth about everything. Her father always tells the truth and shares his new ideas as well, and nothing ever came up about an A.I. It seems very off.
Glados was completely calm now and Caroline was back by Cave, telling him what Glados just told her.
"A.I? I remember her asking me about what that stands for before, but never told me a reason? I thought she was just wondering?" Cave said.
Glados was peaking from the door, eavesdropping in on their conversation. 'If they weren't planning this, then it has to be the scientists doing this without his permission' Glados thought.
She was worried again and went back to her room to think. She couldn't understand why this was happening at all. Why would the scientists do this without her father's permission? How could her father just not see all of this? Yes, she understands that he is busy with a lot of things, but still. He could have seen it for the past six years, from when she was seven to now. Is he really that blind?
She stared up at the ceiling for a few hours, thinking to herself. She tired herself out from all of the thinking and found herself asleep.
Again, she ended up having a dream about the white haired lady down in broken Aperture. She woke up and shook it out of her head. These dreams were starting to get to her a lot more than before.
She brushed it off and went to find Chell. The same dreams are happening to her, but from her point of view instead. She was wondering what Chell was up to anyways right now. She went into the break room and found Chell sitting down, writing in her journal.
She usually writes about the dreams she has been having over and over about being in old Aperture. She can't get her mind off of it either. It's strange to both of them.
Glados sits next to her and reads what she has wrote so far.
"Hey Chell?"
"Yeah?"
"What do you think is going to happen in the future? I don't see it being good."
"Yeah." Chell didn't know what to say after that because what she said was true. It doesn't seem like it's going to get better at the moment.
"I don't know what to do anymore. Everything's too stressful right now." Glados sighed and hugged her legs to her, staring off and getting lost in her thoughts.
Chell wrapped an arm around her and rubbed her back, "It's going to be okay. Maybe not now, but hopefully soon." She tried to say reassuringly.
Glados just hugged her back for a few minutes, happy that her friend is there for her. She let go and layed back against the chair, looking pretty bored.
Chell sighed and closed her journal. She sat there as well and just thought about life.
They didn't say anything for a few hours because they were just thinking to themselves. They eventually did talk to each other and ended up being able to get their minds off of all of the bad things that are happening.
Chell eventually had to leave again to go to her home. Glados had to stay this time because she will still be at Aperture for a few days.
Glados headed to her room and turned off the light. She layed down on her bed, covered herself up, and fell asleep for the night.
