His Way
9:24 pmI quickly, yet neutrally made my way over to Quez's penthouse. I knew exactly what he wanted to talk about because I guess I did kinda blow him off like it was nothing. In all honestly, I regretted everything I said after the fact. Even though I haven't known him that long, I feel something between the two of us. I don't know much about him besides he must have an abundance of money and he looks like what sex feels like. I shot him a quick text to let him know I was nearby. He lived not too far from Raja's new place, which on my part, was definitely a convenience.
On the way toward the elevator, my brain sparked an interest. How the hell did this man afford to live in this building? At the top for that matter. The elevator doors opened as soon as I approached them, and out came Adonis and about half a dozen big men in all black. He acknowledged me by making quick eye contact and continued on walking past. Stepping into the elevator, there was only one thing on my mind: What was that about?
After stepping off the elevator on the top floor and walking down the hall, I knocked on the big, white entrance door into his incredible apartment. To my surprise the door opened like almost instantly, so he must have been waiting on me. When the door was pulled open, the smell of his cologne glided slowly up my nose causing me to instantly melt; not to mention, he didn't have on a shirt and his tattoos were making my hairs stand up.
"C'mon in," He said playfully, sliding out of the way on the wooden floor in his socks. I put my hands over my mouth and giggled at the sight while walking past him into the apartment. "What you covering your mouth for? Let me see that smile." He joked, moving my hand away from my mouth.
"Cheeeese," I said smiling really big, causing us to both laugh. Without even opening my mouth to say anything, He picked up my coat and set it neatly on the couch. "Have a seat," he insisted. I sat down and stuck my knees together like glue considering my dress came a bit below my thighs.
"You want anything to drink?" He asked walking into the kitchen.
"No, I'm fine." There was a long pause while I sat awkwardly waiting for him to come back. He came back into the room with a glass of strong smelling brown liquor. He sat in the loveseat across from me and took a swig. "I guess I'll just hop right into it," he said. "So, as you know, I wanted to have a little talk about, you know.... yesterday."
"What about yesterday?" I asked pretending to be clueless.
"You said we were nothing, and I-" I cut him off.
"Well we aren't." I quickly stated. "I've known you for like two weeks, so I didn't expect for us to be anything but acquaintances building into something."
"Oh," he said lifting his eyebrows and taking another sip of his drink. I definitely shouldn't have said that.
"But you know what?" I perked up trying to immediately redeem myself "We could be more than nothing, I mean.. you know, if you'd like," Oh god, what was coming over me?
"I'on know. I'mma have to think about that.." He said and began to trail off. In all honesty, I was hurt, but I had no idea why. My perk turned my face into utter disappointment. "Nah, I'm kidding," he said out of nowhere. I let out a quick sigh of relief, as I thought of the "nothing-in-the-first-place" relationship was about to come to an end. With all the pep talks I gave myself about things to say and do around this man, you'd think I was a schoolgirl with a crush.
"Look at you, all relieved and shit." He said laughing. "With the look you just made, I wouldn't be surprised if you just told a nigga you love 'em." My face was stale, but I was dying of laughter on the inside just as he was on the outside.
