Valentine's day special

~3rd person~

This story takes place when (Y/N) and Shikamaru are 13. It was Friday afternoon and Shikamaru was going to ask (Y/N) to be his Valentine. He had her favorite candy and was ready to ask her. He started to walk to her classroom where she had her last period, science. While he was walking towards her class he was getting more and more nervous. Until he saw something that made his heart drop. (Y/N) was on a stretcher. She was unconscious, Shikamaru was scared now he didn't care about the candy, he dropped it and ran toward her. As he got closer he saw that she was holding something, it looked like a pendant? It was a little heart pendant. Could it be that she already had a valentine? 'Damn it' Shikamaru thought. 

"Shikamaru...." (Y/N) said in a weakened voice

"Yes (Y/N)?"

"Can you come to the hospital with me? I need someone to be there with me and I want it to be you..."

"Anything for you (Y/N)"

~Time skip to the hospital~

"Shikamaru... I need to tell you everything. It's complicated but I need to tell you or I won't feel like a good friend"

"Why wouldn't you feel like a good friend?"

"Because somebody told me something which I don't know is true but somebody said you liked me and I had a heart pendant in my hand and I don't want you to take it the wrong way"

"Who told you I like you? Because it isn't true"

"Well I want to tell you because I need to tell somebody"

"Alright I'm listening"

"This pendant is from my dad he gave it to me yesterday he told me it's for Valentine's day but he gave it to me early because he was going to die today. I broke down and since today is supposed to be his last day I was so mad and sad that I went all out and started a fight with the strongest kid but he was too strong and knocked me out. Shikamaru I don't want my dad to die. I don't even know what he's dying of. He just said he was going to die today and gave me the pendant. Apparently, the pendant was my mom's and he passed it down to me. My mom is on a mission so she can't spend the last day with us together."

"(Y/N)... I don't know what to say. I wasn't expecting that..."

With that, the nurse walks in and says that (Y/N) can leave. Shikamaru and (Y/N) walk to her home. They walk in and see her dad tied to a chair with a whole bunch of guys surrounding him.

"If you don't want your dad to die then pay up the debt he owes us." The masked man said

"Let my dad go or I will kill you all" (Y/N) said

"How can a tiny brat like you kill us?"

"GIVE HIM BACK NOW" (Y/N) said in frustration

'This must be why he said he was going to die' Shikamaru thought to himself

(Y/N) starts to charge at them and knocks one out until she gets knocked out. Shikamaru grabbed her and took her to the hospital again. He told the police force but when they got there, it was too late.

"Shikamaru I don't want to go home can I go to your house tonight? I don't think they would even let me in because it's a crime scene"

"Alright then let's go"

They walked to Shikamaru's house and went into his room.

"Kids, come down for dinner" Shikamaru's mom yelled out

"Coming," Shikamaru said "Mom, (Y/N) dad died and she can't go back home. Is it ok if she spent the night here?" Shikamaru whispered to his mom 

"Oh no, what happened?"

"She doesn't want to talk about it"

"Oh, Of course, she can stay." Yoshino whispered back "Alright who's ready for some food?!" 

Everyone sat down and started eating. After dinner, Shikamaru took (Y/N) to his room.

"(Y/N)?"

"Yes, Shikamaru?"

"You know how I told you that whoever told you I liked you was lying?"

"Yeah, What about it?"

"Who told you?"

"Ino"

"But Ino doesn't know I like you"

"Are you admitting you like me?!"

"NO! I was just asking"

"It was a joke calm down. It was just a catch she had and told me"

"Oh, you should know better than to jump to conclusions (Y/N)"

"I wasn't, it was Ino"

And with that Shikamaru gave (Y/N) a kiss but he didn't know what he was doing until he was doing it. They both blushed.

"Oh my goodness I'm so sorry (Y/N)"

"WOW Shikamaru! You went for it, didn't you? You dirty little dog"

"Stop it just happened. This NEVER happened you hear me!"

"I hear you loud and clear sir!" (Y/N) starts cracking up

And with that, she develops her feelings for Shikamaru
