"About the fact that I love you, I love you Shikamaru. It's true. I love you so much it hurts, but I can see why you wouldn't return the feelings, and it's ok" she smiles, a broken smile.

~1st person POV~

I wake up from my dream. I open my eyes and look around to see that I am on Shikamaru's back and Temari is glaring at me. I guess it was all just a dream, thank God. I don't think I can tell him any time soon. Yes, I want to tell him, but now isn't the right time. Maybe when we're old enough, but what if Temari is actually like that, I don't think so, she wouldn't go as far as to threaten me, would she? Besides, I think she does like Shikamaru's friends. I'm overthinking this, it was just a dream. 

"Oh your awake." I hear Shikamaru say

"Yeah, what happened?" I honestly don't remember.

"You were asleep at the hotel but we didn't want to wake you up so I offered to carry you" 

"Is that so?" I say "flirting". I get off of him so I can walk

"Are you sure you can walk? You just woke up"

"I think I can manage" Just as I said that I almost trip

"I guess I'll have to help you walk. Hey guys! (Y/N) can't really walk, you guys go on ahead, We'll catch up later, when she can walk again" 

"Why can't she walk?" Ino asks

"She just woke up so she still can't walk straight"

"Oh ok, lets go then guys" I can already tell that Ino wants to leave us alone. I know her plan. 

"I can stay with Shikamaru and (Y/N)" Temari says

"I wanted to talk to you Temari, we haven't gotten to talk and I want to be friend." Ino says pouting. She really went as far as to say she wants to be friends with Temari just so Shikamaru and I are alone? She really is dedicated to the ship.

"Oh, uh, I guess I can't refuse then" Temari says hesitantly. They all go back to running.

"We're finally alone, Shikamaru" I say again "Flirting" with him. 

"Wh-what does that mean?"

"It means that we can finally talk about the Akatsuki situation."

"Oh, right."

"So we're going to tell the hokage?"

"We have to. We can't go alone"

"I think we can, besides the less people that are there the easier it would be to sneak around"

"I mean I guess your're right but we still have to tell her, where is it anyway?"

"Well, we weren't too far from it that last time I told you about it. It was a little East maybe a few miles away"

"That isn't too far, you're right"

"What if they move their hideout though?"

"I doubt it, but if they do then we can just relocate them because we would have their scent and they might leave some stuff behind"

"Yeah, I guess so"

"Can you run now?"

"I think so" We start running to catch up to everyone else "We're back!!! Did ya miss us?"

"Hello" Ino says. She waits up for us. "So? Tell me everything" She whispers in my ear.

"Oh my God Ino, nothing happened" I whisper with a sigh

"Missions failed, we'll get em next time" We both laugh

"Why are you guys so happy all of a sudden?" Choji asks

"We were apart for too long and we're finally back together" I say, we both laugh again. I can't help but notice that Temari was looking at us with jealous eyes.

~2 and a half days later~

We finally reach the gate and everyone exclaims "We're finally home" It's been a whole week since we haven't been home. It doesn't feel like a whole week, it feels more like a day, but we're finally home.

"Finally, I was running low on snacks" Just like the dream everyone laughs but this time I don't laugh and Temari does

"Is everything ok (Y/N)?" Choji asks

"Yeah, why?"

"You look a little down"

"Sorry I just remembered something"

"Do you want to talk about it?"

"Actually, I do."

"Ok, so what's up"

"Ok, you can't tell anyone this, but I like Shikamaru, like, LIKE like him"

"Really?!" I could tell that Choji was just acting to be surprised

"Anyway, I had a dream two days ago and it was exactly like this but different."

"What does that mean"

"I had this dream where it was exactly how I woke up and when we got here that Temari was stuck up and wouldn't laugh at what you said, you said the exact same thing that you were running low on snacks but Temari laughed this time, so I guess what happens in my dream wasn't real? But it was so similar."

"Hmmm that's kind of strange"

"Yeah, I know. Anyway, I just felt like I needed to tell someone, but one last thing, at the end of the dream, I end up confessing to Shikamaru, but then I woke up. I don't know if it's going to happen or not"

"I don't think it will, the Temari part of the dream was debunked already so I think you won't"

"But, what if I want to?"

"Then go for it, I believe in you!"

"But what if he doesn't feel the same way?"

"I doubt that"

"Why?"

"Because you guys have been friends for like forever so I doubt that he hasn't caught feelings at some point"

"But what if he likes Temari?"

"Don't worry"

"Your right, if the time is right, I'll tell him, if it's not then I guess I'll wait"

"See that wasn't so hard was it?"

"Yeah, I guess your right"

"We need to get back"

"Yeah, lets go" We walk back to the group but it seems like nobody noticed we were gone in the first place. We walk over to the hokage's office to tell her that the mission was successful. Everybody leaves the room again until it's just us three again.

"Are you guys coming?"

"We need to tell Lady Tsunade something" Again the hokage looks surprised and Temari says ok and leaves the room, it's too similar, I don't like it.

"What did you guys want to talk to me about"

"I was searching for the Akatsuki" Again the mad face "Before you say anything, I found their hideout"

"Well?"

"We want to go investigate further" I tried using different words, maybe it will change the plot?

"You know I can't-

"Lady Tsunade, I think we are more than capable of going to investigate. We will inform you right away if we need backup. And even if you do send more ninja then it won't be very discreet"

"Fine"

"Really?"

"Yeah, but only if you inform me right away" So far it has changed a little. I obviously am aware that we have to plan the chunin exams so I just cut straight to the point

"Let's go give these genin the hardest time of their life, Shikamaru" I turn to him and wink. Now is the time to see if this has actually changed anything. We walk out the door...
