Chapter 11

Mikenzie's POV

We flew to an area I had discovered the other day when I wanted to be alone and cry.

I put Levi down safely before landing as the wings disappeared.

"This is where I go when I want to be alone"I say. He was in awe as we were at a cliff and below was a lake as the moon and the stars were bright making the area more breathtaking as purple flowers lingered all over the trees.

"It's beautiful"Levi whispered as I sat down at the edge. He followed suit and sat down beside me. I sighed as I felt more at peace as Levi was quiet. "I don't know how to start"

"It's fine it takes a while to open up"I say looking up at the stars. I sighed once more. "It's almost as frustrating too"

He then started to speak up about when he used to live in the underground which I had no idea about. Which he had to 'kindly' explain.

It then went to when he had two close friends named Isabel and Farlan. They both had died during an expedition made me frown.

I slowly looked at him and he had for once shown an emotion that no one would ever see. Tears fell down his face making me frown.

"You need to promise that you'll never tell anyone about this"Levi says with a glare making me blink before I nod. "Or tell anyone I've cried"

"I don't really see a reason for me to tell anyone"I say. "It's not my story to tell"

"Tch at least your good at something brat"Levi says teasingly. I pout.

"I'll take that as a compliment"I say making him roll his eyes. I turned away to the scenery. "I wonder what it'll be like when we reach the sea?"

"Hmm that's a big step cadet"Levi says making me nod. "The amount of bloodshed is all it's gonna take to reach there"

"Sure is"I say looking at the stars. "But I know that if I keep hold onto hope I'll eventually get there"

"Tch how's that worked for you?"Levi asked.

"A nun lady where I once told me that ''There is always hope, one day a merciful hand will hold yours like this"I say taking his hand making him tense up a bit.

"Tch how is that something to believe?"Levi asked taking his hand back.

"Hmm yeah I never believed that either but then someone came into my life and changed it for the better"I say looking at the stars once more. "I can feel him smiling down at me if I look up"

"You miss him a lot huh?"Levi asked.

"Yeah...was like me we both had the similar past and he saved me from something I never wanna turn back too"I say.

"We should probably go back, expedition is tomorrow, so I hope your up and ready?"Levi says and I nod.

"If only we took a horse be great"I say with a sign crossing my arms. "Cien Fleur...wings"

We then take off back to the campus and back into my window.

"Well goodnight"I say closing my window.

"Night"He says walking out the room and shutting the door. I got into bed and stared at the ceiling rethinking about our talk.

Levi that mysterious man, humanities strongest hero. Was a man that's in crucial pain from a lot of suffering. Now I know why when he looks at Eren and his two friends with jealousy and envy.

No one will ever understand what his motives are when he is hard on them but when you get to know him. All you can just see is the pain that's basically an invisible armour.
