Evin ran down the street before slowing down finding the house and ran up the step's entering the house shutting the door behind him, he turned around and looked seeing Mike standing in the hall ''You didn't leave?'' Evin stared at him ''No.'' Evin stated making up his mind then, Andrew came down the stairs and stopped on the fourth step looking at Evin ''How badly do you wanna leave?'' Evin asking looking at him, Andrew didn't speak, Evin could see he didn't know what to say, Evin didn't know their situation but could tell they wanted out ''Mike, go back your backpack.'' he stated, Mike grinned and ran up the stairs passing Andrew that stepped down ''Why do you wanna leave so badly?'' Andrew looked down at the cloth in his hands ''The guards here, their not good people, there was a group of traders and because one of the traders liked sleeping with a knife under his pillow, he went missing.'' Evin nodded figuring out where that story would lead.
''Amanda isn't stable anymore, lost her grandson a couple weeks ago, he turned and was put down by one of the guards, Amanda, in a rage had him kicked out, without food or water.'' He stated giving another example ''The wall is old, had a small hoard on the south wall and it nearly caved in on it's self.'' Andrew explained putting another reason out there ''Why were you out there with Mike?'' Andrew paused before chuckling a bit ''I'm trying to find a safer place for him, but I need his opinion on whatever place I find so he needs to be with me, he insisted on being there in person, not just stories and pictures.'' Andrew explained and looked at Evin ''Why are you willing to help us?'' Evin looked around the house seeing no pictures, no personal things of their's anyways ''I'm just wanting to be an escort.'' Evin explained loosely, Mike came back down stairs and Andrew walked over grabbing his backpack moving it over to the front door ''You hungry?'' Andrew asked walking to the kitchen, Evin put his bag down beside Mike's and Andrews and followed Mike into the kitchen where Andrew put some canned food in front of him on the counter.
Evin looked at the cans ''You letting me choose?'' he asked a bit confused by his actions ''Yeah, why not, your new.'' Mike looked up at Evin who then picked the peaches, Andrew then turned the can's to Mike who picked the peas leaving Andrew with beans, Mike went over to the table while Evin sat down on one of the stools beside him while he opened the can of peaches. Andrew looked at him ''How long have you been alone?'' he asked curious, Evin looked up to him before looking down picking up on of the forks ''Not long.'' he admitted and ate one of the peaches.
''When did you learn you were immune?'' Andrew asked seeing it fit since he asked a couple questions, Evin paused looking at the counter ''My best friend turned and I panicked allowing him to bite me, I used the last bullet on him so I didn't have a choice but to live with the fact that I might turn...'' he paused and looked at the peaches ''When I didn't I was more angry then confused.'' he explained and looked at Andrew, not going into detail ''You're lucky.'' Mike mumbled, Evin looked over to him hearing him ''No I'm not.'' Mike glanced over before getting up fro the table and walking upstairs. Andrew sighed ''Sorry about that.'' Evin looked at him then looked down.
''Our parent's turned right in front of us, in their sleep.'' Andrew stated ''Mike was just a baby when it happened, I'm just happen he can't remember it.'' Evin stared at him before looking down the hall ''We were never gonna be prepared for this.'' Evin stated and got up with his can of peaches going into the living room, Andrew watched him disappear around the corner and pushed away form the counter heading upstairs to his little brother who had gone to his room. Evin sat in the living room on the couch, staring at the empty fire place, charred wood was still there from when the two must've had a fire, or else it was from the original owners of the house, the one's who lived here so long ago. Evin sighed and ate the rest of the peaches before getting up and went over to the trash throwing the can out and put the fork in the sink before walking back to the living room and sat down, slouching.
He glanced down at his arm seeing the bandage on it, wrapped up good, couldn't tell what the wound was, could've been a dog bite, or a knife, or a human bite... Evin moved his arm to the side and put his head back looking at the ceiling seeing old blood stains behind him, as if someone blew their brains out sitting right in this sport, the way the blood had crawled up the wall and got on the ceiling a bit, shotgun probably, pistol wouldn't spread as much blood, Evin could tell Andrew tried to clean it up, the blood on the wall was faded and old. Evin lifted his head and saw Mike standing in front of him ''Are you honestly wanting to help us?'' Evin was surprised that a kid of this age was still around, Andrew was doing a good job of keeping him safe ''Yes, why wouldn't I?'' he stated leaning forward, Mike smiled a bit and looked down before walking to the table and continued eating, Evin glanced up beside him seeing Andrew come back down and looked over to Mike, Evin could tell he went up looking for him but Mike must've slipped past him. Evin smiled and leaned back into the couch.
