"A dragon?!" Maddie nearly yelled. I cupped my hand over her mouth.
"Yes, a dragon!" I whispered. I took my hand off her mouth, and zipped open my backpack a little bit.
A dull red horn poked out. "Thank god you did that! I was dying in-"
"Shhhh!" This time, I cupped my hand over two things. A red dragon snout, and Maddie's mouth to keep her from screaming. Thorn climbed out of my backpack.
"Is this my breakfast?" She asked, pointing at Maddie.
"No! She's a friend!" I slapped my dragon lightly on the face. She bit my finger in return. I pulled a band-aid out of my pocket. Ever since she started talking, I came prepared.
"So......Who's this?" Thorn asked impatiently.
"This is Maddie." I said. I turned to Maddie. "This is Thorn." Thorn opened her jaws. "And no biting!" The bus lurched to a stop. We were there. I shoved Thorn in my backpack, and hopped off of the bus with Maddie.
