Dragonrider (the powers of the unknown series part 1)

Chapter 3

The outside of the castle looked already huge but when you came inside you really saw how big it actually was. The first thing I thought was how the heck I would possibly not get lost in here. Luckily for us, we got a map of the school. When I got my schedule and room number I looked at my map and saw that I needed to go to the north of the building and that my room was on the first floor.

A couple of minutes later

I was already wandering through the hallways for a couple of minutes. I was lost. But, what can I do about that. After the cafeteria, I lost track of where I was. Suddenly I heard someone behind me. 'Are you lost or something'. I turned around and saw two boys standing behind me. One of them had straight black hair with purple on the bottom, he wore a shirt with the logo of bts and some black jeans. The other guy was pretty tall, he had blue eyes and long curly hair, he was taller than the other boy, he wore black leather clothing. 'Hello,' the first boy says 'I asked you if you were lost.' 'Yes' I said. 'Are you new here' said the second boy. 'Yeah, but do you mind me if I ask who you guys are?' 'Oh, yeah, sorry, I am Peter and I am a human' said the first boy. Then the second boy said:' oh, yeah, of course, I am Oliver, I am a mermaid and what is your name?' 'My name is Mia, I am a human.' 'What is your power' asked Peter. 'I still need to find out' I said. 'Do you guys already know your power' I asked. 'Yes, I have the power to become invisible' said Peter. 'I have the power to control water and the weather and I can shift into any creature I want' said Oliver. 'Cool' I answered. 'May I see your room number' said Oliver. 'Sure' I said. When I showed them my room number they looked surprised. 'What's wrong' I asked. 'Nothing, it's just that it isn't very common for a first-year student to have a room there.' I didn't know what to think of it, but I assumed that it wasn't very important. We chatted a little bit more and then they showed me the way to my room (apparently I accidentally held the map upside down).

When I entered my room I was shocked about how big it was, the size of only the bedroom was already around the size of my house and my house wasn't even the smallest. The whole room was colored in blue and white and black. It was beautiful. When I looked around I noticed my bag next to a closet and I started to unpack the few personal items I took from home. After that, I headed to the cafeteria because they told us to come there after we unpacked our stuff. This time I first made sure that I held the map the right way. On my way to the cafeteria, I met up with Oliver and Peter again. Oliver and Peter were also first year's but they were already here because of circumstances they didn't want to tell me about. We chatted a bit while we walked to the cafeteria, and after a couple of minutes, we walked inside.

When we walked into the cafeteria we were immediately hit by a wall of sound. There were tables scattered all around the room. It looked like there were thousands of students inside, which was strange because you would expect that there were a lot less when you looked at the number of dragonriders there were. At the back of the room, there was a large table. It looked like that was the table of the teachers. It took a while before we finally spotted an empty table, but, yeah, I wouldn't suspect anything else. After a while, I noticed that the stream of students had stopped and that probably everyone was inside. Slowly it became silent in the room. When it was completely silent someone from the table of the teachers stood up and said: 'hello students, this year I will give the introduction speech because the headmaster needed to be at an urgent meeting.' I turned away from the teacher and asked Peter: 'who is the headmaster?' 'You don't know' answered Peter surprised. 'Did you live under a stone or something?!' 'No, I just didn't have much contact with people outside our village and I never bothered asking things about dragonriders because I thought that it wasn't important.' 'To be honest, we also don't know the headmaster, we heard that every year he just gives his speech while staying in the shadows being completely covered up, there are only a few people who ever saw the headmaster and for some reason is it forbidden for them to talk about how he looks like.' 'His whole existence is a mystery for most people.' 'But there are a lot of rumors and legends about him, that's why I was so surprised that you've never heard of him' said Peter. 'But we can better continue this conversation later when we aren't supposed to listen to a teacher giving a speech' said Peter laughing. We were just in time to listen to the end of the speech and after that, we directly headed towards our rooms.

I wished Oliver and Peter a good night and walked the last few meters to my room. When I was just going to enter my room I suddenly heard something behind me. I became a little bit nervous. I thought it was nothing to worry about but I still grew more nervous when I noticed that the sound was heading my way. I slowly became aware of the fact that I could probably go into my room and not just stand still in front of my room. I quickly stepped into my room, but the sound didn't stop, whatever I heard was even louder now, whatever I just heard was in my room!
