Brendan went outside and goes to the lab to get his new Pokémon. But the scientist told Brendan that Professor Birch was not in the lab. Brendan was worried that he might not get his pokémon. Suddenly a boy ran out and asked for help. "hey, someone needs help! Go!" Brendan was speechless and ran. Once he got to the field, it was Professor Birch running and a wild zigzagoon was angry at him. "Hey there! Please grab a Pokéball in my bag! There!" Brendan open it and there are 3 Pokéballs. Brendan can't pick one and 1 Pokéball fell in the bag and he saw something good at it. He saw his face reflected and the Pokéball winked. Then Brendan chose the Pokéball and battled zigzagoon. "Pokéball, I Choose You!" It was Torchic. A fire type pokémon. Torchic and Brendan defeated the wild zigzagoon. Professor Birch thanks Brendan and goes to the lab with him. Professor Birch was a professor in the Hoenn region. "Well, your starting a journey and what pokémon would you like to choose. Suddenly, Torchic came out in the Pokéball and licks Brendan. He chose Torchic. "Would you like to nickname it?" said Professor Birch. "I'm gonna call him.... Blaze! With Blaze and me, we will be the best pokémon trainer!". He shouted. "Well, enjoy your new journey! Can you call May? She's in the north side of the oldale town. I will be giving a gift for you two."
