Chris chambers x reader

I sniffed rubbing my nose and eyes, my ribs started hurting from the persons shoulder digging into my chest, I looked at their shirt seeing the recognisable white shirt I smiled.
"Can you let me down now?" I asked laughing at the end, my voice stuffy from crying.

"Are you going to break down again?" I could practically hear the smirk in his voice.

"No if you put me down, you are really hurting my ribs" Chris grabbed me by the waist and set me down, he looked back up at me and I smiled, not one of my cheerful smiles, one more sad than usual, he smiled back and wrapped an arm round my shoulders as we began walking with the boys again.

"You alright Teddy?" I asked looking at the taller boy who looked distraught.

"He ranked my old man" Teddy murmured quietly, even after putting his ear to a stove Teddy still loved his father all the boys started saying stuff like 'he still stormed the beaches of Normandy' or 'why do you care what he thinks' but if this was anything to do with family, it was never what people said to make a noise and show you were there, it was always to show how long you would stay silent to show you were there, or the person is gonna go mad, I would know, so many people would say they were sorry for my loss with Ophelia, even if they didn't know we were related they knew we were close, it nearly drove me to insanity, silence was the most peaceful sound that helped me get over it, even if I'm still not fully over it, I can say I am enough to go about my day.

"Just forget it all right!" I smiled at him and nodded, which he acknowledged with a small smile.
"I'm sorry if I'm ruining everyone's good time" I looked at him and shook my head.

"I'm not sure if it should be a good time" everyone looked at me, "we are going to see a dead kid" and my cousin

"You saying you want to go back?" I looked at Chris and shook my head, "no it's just, uh- we are going to see a dead kid, a kid our age" at this point I think it had only just hit me, I was going to find my cousin, not how I wanted to, and the boys were doing it to get on television

"I mean if he's really bad like all cut up, guts out, I might have nightmares, and guts and eyes hanging out ready to jump-" Vern looked at me, me giving him wide eyes and mouth agape with a 'shut up' kind of look,
"Sorry"

Time skip

I looked at my watch, it was quarter after three but it felt much later, and it was absolutely roasting, and we were no closer to the royal river

"Lollipop lollipop oo lolly lolly lollipop" me, Teddy and Vern put our fingers on the inside of our cheeks making a popping nose
"Ba da bump bump" we kept on making our way down the tracks doing a little dance, I looked behind me seeing Chris yelling at Gordie and decided to stay out of it.
I blanked out and listened to the chirps of the birds and feeling the sun rays on my back, it was so... serene, and I knew in my heart that once we got back to castle rock everything was gonna change, I'm getting recommended for the college courses and I don't know if anyone else will be taking them, Teddy and Vern aren't, Gordie doesn't know what he wants to do, he wants to be with the boys and stay with them by taking workshop while Chris is insisting he will be taking workshop, but I don't think he will... hopefully.

"Hey earth to Y/n!" I blinked, shaking myself out of my space world, I looked at Teddy who was looking pissed, he swung his head around and pointed at Vern then looked back at me.
"Who would win, Mighty Mouse or Superman?" I looked at him and shook my head.

"What's your arguments?"

"He's a superhero/cartoon" I shook my head again and narrowed my eyes at them.

"Is that your only arguments?" They shrugged and nodded, Chris came up and swung his arm around me while Gordie was beside him.

"What's going on?"

"I'm about to give them a little.... movie theory" I turned and stopped making the boys stop, looking at Teddy and Vern.
"Vern is right, Mighty Mouse would win because cartoon theory, they can't die and they can just summon stuff out of thin air and therefore could grab  Kryptonite or could just give himself the abilities of doomsday the only person ever known to kill superman" I smiled and turned on my heel and began walking, Vern laughed while Teddy groaned, Chris put his arm around my shoulder again as we came across a bridge, I looked over the cliff and shuddered that's nearly fucking hundred feet.

"Does anyone know when the next trains due?" I looked at Gordie and shook my head looking above the tree line looking for smoke.

"We could go to the route 136 bridge" I shocked my head.

"That's five miles down the river and even then we would have to cross the bridge" I said biting my lip, "But if we go over here we will get to the same place in five minutes"

"Yeah but if a train comes there's no where to go" said a worried Vern, I looked at Teddy and shrugged with him.

"We can just jump?" Me and Teddy said at the same time. The three boys looked at us with wide eyes.

"It's nearly hundred feet" exclaimed Chris I shrugged and looked over again, getting a sickly feeling in my stomach I moved back.

"You guys can go around if you want, while me and Y/n will go over and rest with our thoughts" I cocked my head and looked at him.

"You use your left or your right hand for that? Cause I'm not coming over if that's happening" Gordie and Vern laughed while Chris lowly chuckled.

"You wish" Teddy started walking me and Chris behind him, Vern crawling a couple of bits behind us and Gordie on his heels, I felt a bit nervous not sure if it was the fact I was on the train tracks or if something was telling me to run, I stopped and turned around, Chris stopped and raised an eyebrow looking at me.

"You alright?" I nodded and looked behind us at Gordie and Vern, I looked up and saw the misty grey-ness of the trains smoke.
All colour drained from my face as I screamed.

"TRAIN!" Gordie and Vern looked behind them and started moving faster, Chris and Teddy started running, Chris came back and grabbed my arm knocking me off my feet and made me start running, I caught my balance and started running faster, I looked over my shoulder and saw Vern wasn't moving and the train was right behind the two boys, I huffed and ran back ignoring Chris's shouts of protest, I ran back and grabbed Vern by the shoulder hauling him up and running with him and Gordie, the train on our heels, I started leaning to the left and jumped, I took a deep breath before being enveloped by water, the feeling of the cold water against my hot skin was bliss, I swam up and waved to the boys who cheered.

"Told you we could've jumped!" I shouted laughing, they all started laughing as well, I huffed and started back floating, I smiled at the sky after a couple of moments I swam over to the edge, climbing up the crumbling rocks, scratching my knee form nearly slipping, Chris and Gordie grabbed my hands helping me up. I tied my hair up and felt relieved at the droplets rolling down my neck.
