Don't hate me, but I'm skipping over the obstacle course and cavalry battle because I just hate writing them. I find it boring.
********************************It's the day of the sports festival. Izuku came second in the obstacle course, between Bakugou and Shouto, and his team came first in the cavalry battle (He was on Shouto's team in this obviously) just barely managing to swipe the ten million points from Bakugou's team. Bakugou's team still managed to come in second though.
It's during the break between the cavalry battle and the battle tournament that his father approaches him on his way to the waiting room.
"You're making Shouto look like a fool, and by extension, me and you're holding him back. Is that what you want? To hold Shouto back?. If you don't stop hanging by his side all the time I'm taking you out of UA," he tells him, but Izuku knows it's just a bluff. His father wouldn't do that. He knows better than to separate him and Shouto by this point. But what does get to Izuku is that his father thinks he's holding Shouto back and is he? He doesn't know, he's never considered it before. He feels a surge of hate towards his father at that. He's just trying to push us apart, he tells himself. But what if he's right?
Izuku isn't in the best mood after that. His match against Shinsou is first and he's a little nervous, but he's too angry to care at the moment.
Shouto's POV
He can tell the second Izuku steps into his view that something's very wrong. His face is an emotionless mask and his hands look to be shaking slightly. To anyone else it would probably just look like nerves, but Shouto knew better, he knew Izuku was angry about something the moment his eyes landed on him and it's confirmed further the second the match starts. Izuku doesn't even give Shinsou a chance to breathe before he's encased him in a mountain of ice so high it puts Shouto's ice to shame. The stadium is dead silent for a few seconds until Present Mic cuts through it, "Shinsou has been immobilized. The winner of this match is Todoroki Izuku!" He shouts and the crowd erupts in a mix of cheers and angry shouts, claiming it was an unfair fight, which to be fair, it kind of was, considering Izuku was probably the strongest first year in the hero course and he had been paired up with someone in the general studies course. But the pairs were randomly selected, so it doesn't really matter one way or the other. What Shouto is worried about is the fact that Izuku isn't acting like himself. What could have possibly happened in the past ten minutes to make Izuku act this way?
Shouto meets Izuku on his way back to their seats and he still has that same emotionless mask on. "What happened?" Shouto asks, giving him a concerned look.
"Nothing, I'm fine," Izuku states before shoving past him to go join the others. Shouto knows that his brother isn't trying to hurt him, that he's just upset about something, but it hurts nonetheless.
When he gets the chance, he wanders over to where he knows his father will be and plops down in the seat beside him. "What did you do?" he demands, glaring at the man.
"What do you mean?" Endeavor asks uninterestedly.
"You said something to him. I know you did. He wouldn't be acting this way otherwise and he won't talk to me. So, what did you do?" he asks again, impatience making his voice tight.
Endeavor looks over at him with a scowl. "I only told him the truth, that he needs to stop following you around like a lost puppy because all it's doing is holding you back," he admits, shrugging his shoulder and turning away from him again.
Shouto has the sudden and undeniable urge to bash the bastards face in, but he shoved it down and goes back to find Izuku again, but the angry teen is not sitting in the stands where he left him.
