Toni didn't need the tour for anything, she knew everything half by hard, her mother was the head of the board as well as an alumni, everything Toni did was nearly recoded in a book and placed in the library of the university but alas her mother was not that crazy. But this meant that Toni knew every inch of the school and that the tour would be useless, pointless and incorrect, meaning it would end with her stalking off or bitting the tour guide's head off and giving the tour herself, which was something that she certainly didn't want.
As Toni stood in the midsts of the freshmen, she could already feel the frustration inside her build-up, Alyssa stood next to her looking around, actually anxious for the tour to actually start, in distance Toni could see her mother walking with another member of the board, Vera Stones, someone who Toni also knew from the countless meetings that were held over at their house.
It would seem that Toni's mother mentioned something and pointed at them causing the two to turn their heads to the group, or more exactly Toni, the only redhaired person in the crowd, distinguishable. "I think I'm actually going to skip the tour." She claimed lowly to her roommate, causing her to look back at her with a frown on her delicate face, "Why?" Toni looked back at her and shrugged almost as if she was just shrugging off dust and replied "I have to unpack. You've had a headstart."
The frown on Alyssa's face didn't vanish but it sure lessened as she nodded, watching as the ginger girl began to walk away. Toni was most definitely not going back to her dorm, no, she was going to do what she did best, she was going to bury herself in books, preferably ones that weren't bound with human flesh.
She was what most would consider a nerd but in her opinion, she was more of an artist than a nerd, sure she could spend hours on end inside a library but she wasn't necessarily reading a book, she would be writing her own stories or translating other books. With one last glance over her shoulder, Toni saw the orientation tour group leave the spot, allowing her to breathe easily and continue her way to the library, or as it was about to become her second dorm.
The hood of her hoodie had come down when she was waiting with Alyssa and it had stayed down, exposing her wonderful ginger hair to the public, not that she liked it, she was sure that someone was going to find the connection between her and the portrait of her and her mother in the School's Hall sooner or later.
Taking in a deep breath, the ginger 19-year-old walked inside of the library, it was beautiful, the architecture was gothic but with a tinge of modernism and it was blended together wonderfully. The sole of her sneakers barely made any noise as she walked through the rows and rows of tables and chairs until she arrived at her destination, the history section, not that history was her major, she was majoring in languages, a passion of hers.
Her fingers graced the hardcover backs of the books, almost as if she was allowing them to choose instead of her mind, then her fingers curled and grabbed a book at the same time another hand did, the other hand, clearly male.
