"Alright you caught me." the familiar voice agreed, the owner of the voice appearing next to her, "Did mom send you to spy on me?" Toni inquired turning to the owner of the voice, Vera Stone. Vera stood there in a dark ensemble that complimented her figure very well and only a fool would be an idiot to deny it.

"Of course she did." Vera replied, knowing fully well that Toni knew her mother better than most, "But I only agreed because I missed my godchild." a smile broke onto Toni's face at Vera's words, making her reach towards the older woman and wrapping her arms around her neck and pulling her into a hug that she returned. "I missed you too Aunt Vera." Toni whispered.

Vera was one of the few people that Eleanor Belgrave trusted her daughter's life with.

No.

Vera Stone was the only person that Eleanor Belgrave trusted her daughter's life with, and for good reason, Vera was known to be a bitch and always succeeding in getting what she wanted, always with the greater good in mind, of course, and also she was the only one who had met Toni's father and still stay in the Belgrave's lives.

"I can't believe that you are already a university student." Vera fake cried as she pulled away from the ginger, watching as the younger girl rolled her eyes at her and argued "I'm not a child Aunt Vera." "I know you're not but in both your mother and mine's eyes you are still the cutest 4-year-old with pigtails running around the Academy and barging in on meetings she shouldn't."

Toni chuckled at the last part, remembering all too well the meetings she crashed because she wouldn't stay still in her Vera's office for one hour, "True, I saw some pretty gnarly things that I wish you had erased from my mind." Vera chuckled and shook her head slightly, knowing fully well what gnarly things the ginger was referring to.

"How are things?" Toni asked vaguely, looking up at her godmother, watching as she took two steps back and smiled slightly at her, a smile that Toni had grown up with, a smile that had 'You know I can't talk to you about these things' plastered all over it, "They're good." Vera still replied, pretending that this was a normal conversation to prying ears.

"According to your mom you've decided to move into a dorm on campus instead of staying at home." The older of the two countered, attempting to change the subject, "Oh..." Toni breathed out, annoyance flooding her at the fact her mother told Vera that, she was hoping that Vera wouldn't find out until a couple of weeks, if not a month or so into classes, "Don't 'Oh...' me. I agree with you." Vera scolded lightly.

This shocked Toni, who was sure that Vera would be disappointed like her mother, "Y-You do?" she questioned confused, more confused than she had ever been in her whole life, "Of course, your mother can be a bit overbearing, but that's only because she loves you." Vera explained.

"Well you love me and you're not overbearing." Toni sassed back, raising a challenging brow at her godmother, "I'm not your mother." Vera smirked in return causing the two to laugh quietly. "In all honesty now, you should ask the cute boy out on a date." Vera said with a straight face before walking away, leaving gaping Toni behind.
