Mothpelt woke to the sound of a monster tearing past. She felt stiff from sleeping in no nest and from what happened the day before.

The others!
Mothpelt realized that everyone would be worried about her. They could think she was dead or still in the river somewhere.

Looking around she noticed Branch and Timber both still curled up in their nests asleep. Mothpelt arched her back in a luxurious stretch.

Mothpelt walked out of the small and broken down twoleg den which had no other places like a normal twoleg den had.

She noticed that she was indeed in the twoleg place. Creeping around slowly she avoided the twolegs who went about their normal business. Ducking behind a twoleg building she saw two cats.

One was a pure black cat and the other... Mothpelt froze and her eyes widened. The other cat was Stormkit.

Dropping into a crouch she ignored the pain in her shoulders and watched the two cats.
"So you really did It?" The black Tom asked. Mothpelt recognized his voice as Fang. She growled slightly.

Mothpelt crept forward and hid behind some twoleg rubbish. Her pads were sore from the strange ground underneath her.

Mothpelt ignored all the pain that came and focused on Stormkit's and Fang's conversation.

"Yes, I did." Stormkit laughed and his eyes glinted with something she never expected from him. Evil.
"I thought you were joking! No cat has ever tried to light the forest on fire."
Fang stared in awe and smiled.

"Well, they all deserved to die. You were right. Mothpelt was nothing but a useless mother," Stormkit meowed.

Useless? Mothpelt thought with a hiss, I tried to rescue you.
But Mothpelt hissed a little too loud. For Stormkit and Fang turned around in her direction.

Mothpelt shrank lower in an attempt to hide. Her mind whirled with thoughts and a slight bit fear scent came off her.

Stormkit rolled his eyes as he leapt on top of a twoleg item made of wood. He was above Mothpelt now, "Useless as ever!"

Fang jumped next to Stormkit and Mothpelt started slowly stepping backwards. "Well well." Fang meowed, "look who it is!"

Stormkit laughed and jumped from the wooden twoleg item and in front of Mothpelt. "Why did you try to kill me!? Your sisters?"
Mothpelt stared at him, pleading to herself for him to say it wasn't true.

"Because you are all useless!" Stormkit leapt onto Mothpelt's back and bit into her neck. Digging his hind claws into her flank, he used his front claws to claw down her side. She let out a yowl of pain.

He had grown stronger and bigger from the last time Mothpelt saw him. Mothpelt rolled over, squashing Stormkit. Mothpelt was then back on her paws and with her claws extended, batted at Stormkit's face.

Mothpelt wanted to stop fighting. He was her kit! It pained her to see him this way. Pain exploded into Mothpelt's shoulder as Stormkit bit down.

Blood trickled down her shoulder as Stormkit let go. Mothpelt flopped onto her side, she was still sore and tired from almost drowning. Stormkit took advantage of this and before Mothpelt could face him again Stormkit pinned her.

Stormkit bit into her neck again and this time harder. Fang jeered him on as Mothpelt grew weaker.
Then Stormkit realised his grip. Hope flared in Mothpelt but faded quickly when Stormkit whispered into her ear. "It's better revenge to watch you suffer. Take this as a warning Mothpelt. Stormsky isn't going to stop at anything."

With that Stormsky and Fang ran away and left Mothpelt alone and defeated. Revenge? What had Mothpelt ever done to him? Her beloved kit had just attacked her.

Oh my! Stormsky! Why?

I know that it is a sorta short chapter, more is coming though so stay tuned to read what happens next!

Have a great day =)
