Do I hear liquid?
I mean like ew but still. I feel pain, both in my face and on my side. I have perfect curves. Like my body shape is kind of like an hourglass. I’ve got B cup boobs, curves, and then a reasonable cute sized butt. Like literally, I’m the ideal girl look-
“Is she okay!?” I hear Zolton, and people running. The pain in my side feels sticky and it stings. “Canary Yellow! I mean Vanessa! Answer me!” My brother yelps.
“Don’t worry. She’s only fainted.” Zoie Linda. Some bright light flickers on, and I feel a needle getting injected into my leg. Oh my god! Not only do I hate needles. I just shaved my legs! Now, I might need a bandage. I hate bandages. “Vanessa?” Zoie’s voice is soft.
“She’ll wake up soon.” A woman says. Where am I!? This bed isn’t even comfortable! I want to talk! I need to talk!
“I’m already awake.” I try to say, but fail. I can’t even hear myself. The woman presses a gloved hand on my forehead. Suddenly the uncomfortable bed reminds me of someone who likes hardwood floors. Who cut me, almost killed me. Who I love. That heart stopping fear catches me again. I see the wicked green eyes.
And then I remember the girl who saved me.
“Zoie!” I cry and spring straight up. My vision doesn’t even blur, I can see very clearly a strange situation in front of my eyes. I grab Zoie’s hand, she looks very startled. I can see Zoie and Zolton staring at me with worried faces. A nurse holding an empty syringe, standing next to me. My parents are here, in this hospital room, my mom freaking out. Steffanie is explaining something to a police woman, showing off her pictures. Ash, wide awake, terribly confused, and frightened, is handcuffed, with two policemen surrounding him. I look at the corner of the room, and see Jaison with a woman. Zoie’s mom I suppose. And standing next to her is Mrs. Lindon, who looks so pale, she might as well be a walking dead. She looks at her son like she’s going to kill him.
“Vanessa, I’m so glad you’re awake.” Steffanie says to me, smiling. “Don’t worry, I‘ve got it all down on camera. We’re going on the news, tomorrow.” I roll my eyes.
“Vanessa! Are you okay!? What happened!? Why am I here!?” Ash cries. Memories flash in my mind. I let go of Zoie’s hand. Why am I holding her hand? I don’t like her! Wait she saved me! Wait, I’m so confused! First, I need to defend Ash! He looks all beat up himself.
“Don’t arrest him! He’s innocent! He knows nothing about what he did to me! He was sleepwalking, I swear!” I take a deep breath. “It’s the consequences of sleeping on hardwood floors, I think.” I continue.
“What’s this boy’s relationship with you?” One of the police asks me, angrily. Oh no. He can’t go to jail! I cannot imagine life without him! And not only to have someone pay for me during shopping trips, or someone to complain to! I really actually love him!
“He is my boyfriend. Also best friend since first grade.”
“What did I even do to her?” Ash asks the policeman. “I mean I’m sorry for whatever I did, but…”
“Shut up! Stop pretending to be dumb!” The police screams in his face. I feel terrible.
“But he’s telling the truth! He knows nothing!” What if they separate us!? Tears sting my eyes. “Just let him go.”
“We’ll consider that.”
“Here, we need to clear up.” The policewoman says. “Ms. Lasdon and Jaison, you guys can wait outside for Zoie.” I guess Zoie has divorced parents, or else why is her mom Ms. Lasdon instead of Ms. Linda? I watch Zoie’s brother and mom leave. She then sends Dad and Zolton out too. Mom’s hallucinating, and the nurse tries to calm her down, bringing her outside to the waiting room. I’ve never been to this hospital before.
