14: Puzzle Piece

Archie POV

I couldn't stand this. Veronica to be exact. She was not the women I fell in love with anymore. She had a rum business at the age 17! is the even legal? Whatever, all she does is come to me for sex. sex at school. sex in the woods. sex sex sex. I was sick and tired of it, I felt like I was being used. Then she got caught with a flask in her locker, I couldn't do anything to help her. I didn't want to do anything to help her. I just sat there as she got taken away by Mr.Honey. I sat there all by myself until I hear someone.

"Hey Arch" Betty sat down next to me.

"Hi" I say. She looks at me with worry in her eyes. 

"I know when there is something on your mind Archie, what's up?" She asks. I sigh then smile, Betty knows me so well, and I know her so well.

"It's Veronica" I say. She nods signaling for me to go on.

"She's been drinking a lot, she owns a rum business, and all she wants from me is to have fun which equals to sex" I say, I realize how terrible our relationship is.

"Do you want to take a break with her?" Betty asks, I never really thought of that.

"I want her to work on herself before continuing us" I say truthfully, but I really just want Betty. I look into her eyes, her beautiful green eyes. Her blonde hair shined. Her smile was my everything.

"Archie?" She says waving her hand in front of my face.

"Sorry" I say. She smiles.

"Like I was saying, you should tell her that" Betty says.

"Thanks Betty" I give her a kiss on the cheek and leave.

Betty POV

I put my hand on my cheek. I smiled. I couldn't stop smiling. What's wrong with me. YOU LOVE JUG- ARCH-JUG. No. No. No. Shit. Archie, his smile is adorable. His red hair bright as flames. He deep brown eyes make me melt every time I look into them. I get up and start to walk out of school. As I pass the music room I see Archie and Veronica having making out. I see Archie trying to push her off. I decide to go in there. I open the door.

"Archie- Oh my gosh I am so sorry" I say covering my eyes.

"Betty!" Veronica says. I uncover my eyes.

"Archie said he needed help in world studies so I was going to help him" I say.

"Yeah, I'm sorry I forgot the time" He says grabbing his stuff.

"Can you give us a minute B?" Veronica asked. I nodded stepping outside. I put my ear to the door I couldn't hear anything. The door opens soon after.

"Let's go Betty" Archie grabs my hand walking out of the school.

"What happened Archie?" I say.

"I broke up with her" He says.

"Wait what" I say.

"She said she was getting jealous of how much time I was spending with other girls, the I went off about the stuff we talked about, she thought you and me were hooking up, then I broke up with her" Archie says. I stop.

"She thought you and me were hooking up?" I ask.

"She was drunk, she didn't mean any of it" He says. We start walking again. 

"Thanks for saving me back there" He says.

"She really tried making you have sex in the music room, right in front of the window" I laugh.

"You saw us in the hallway?" He says.

"Yeah" I laugh. We laugh and talk until we get to my porch. 

"Thanks for walking me home" I say. He smiles.

"Just like old times" He says. I look down sad.

"Yeah old times" I say. 

"Whats wrong?" He asks.

"I miss the old times, when it was just me and you Arch" I say.

"At our booth in Pop's, I felt safe with you. I feel safe with you" I say. He grabs my hand. It was cloudy out today and now it started to rain, not very hard though.

"I feel safe with you too Betty" He says. We move closer to each other. Our faces inches apart, his hands laid on my waist, naturally. My arms go around his neck, naturally.

"Arch" 

"Betty"  Our lips touched, it felt like sparks, My hands go to his face, He pulls me close to him. He fit together perfectly. The kiss felt like it lasted forever. We both pull away from each other. We both couldn't help but smile. He pulled me back for another kiss. We both were smiling. Then it hits me, I just cheated on Jughead  but I didn't care. Archie and I were like puzzle pieces. I get flashbacks. Archie proposed to me right here, in 2nd grade. He broke my heart here. He put back together my heart here.

"I love you" He says whispering into my ear kissing my neck.

"I love you too Arch" I say. He picks me up and spins me in a circle. 

"Elizabeth!" I hear my mom say.

"I'll see you later Betty, have a nice rest of your day Ms.Smith" He says to my mom.

"You too Archibald" She smiles.

"He's more polite then Jughead" She says.

"I know"
