"Come on Taylor, lets go fill up that shit stall!" The guy yelled to whomever the other guy was that was in the gas station. It made sense now, they were the ones doing that like it was some sort of game.
Christian told me if I got in this sort of situation to shoot first and then ask later. "If you ask before shooting... Chances are you'll be the one dead." These guys didn't sound like the sort of guys that would be considered friendly.
I lifted my legs up and just started hoping that the guys did not see me when they came into the bathroom.
I wanted to close my eyes and just hope but I knew what I needed to do if things went bad. There were 2 stalls, and there were at least 2 guys that were in the gas station. I pulled my pistol from out of my saddle. I made sure it was ready in case I needed it.
I heard the guys head into the bathrooms. Their footsteps became closer and closer the mine. Clearly both of them had come in and were about to head in the stalls. Maybe I was lucky, maybe only one of them needed to take a dump.
I knew my sort of luck though, I really doubted if I would get lucky in this sort of situation. But you never really know, maybe the took turns going into the same stall... It made since because this one didn't have any shit in it.
Maybe both of them didn't need to use it in the first place. Maybe one of them only needed to go pee and he would go in the open stalls.
The first guy went into the stall beside me as I heard it open and saw his legs sitting underneath the stall. I lifted my legs a little bit higher up making sure he 100% did not see me. But while I was doing it the toilet seat made a bit of a sound and then moved a little bit.
I shook my head, that might have been my fatal mistake that might get me killed. Or maybe they would take me in somewhere, they didn't seem like the type of guys that would take me somewhere good though. I pulled my pistol up to the door, I would go down fighting. It was the only way, I didn't want to get taken in somewhere and become a slave or some sort of sexual machine for them.
Luckily they had not heard the sound or they thought it was really nothing to worry about. I sat up and thanked whatever god had blessed me with good luck for once in my life.
I could think of that one small group of guys that had about 3 little boys and girls and some women with them that they had raped and molested. I shook my head, I didn't want to be one of them, the community after we had found them had taken them in and treated them with such care.
They were never truly the same after that though. I don't think I would after that had happened to me either.
I focused back into the present, the other guy grunted as if the 1st guy was taking a bit too long.
"Come on dude, I gotta take a piss! Would you hurry up?" He said to the first guy. My body started shivering, it seemed like my luck was about to run out. If he needed to go pee I just had to hope that he would just use one of the urinals...
But I saw from underneath, and I heard him walking towards my stall... This would be the end for me... I would go up and see my mother and my father. There was no way out, nowhere to run, I didn't know how many of them there really were.
I would go down fighting, I had good accuracy, this was close range, I would at least be able to take one down. These were not good guys, Id only killed the dead, I had never killed an actual person. I just had to keep that thought in mind...
I didn't know if I could do it, these clearly were not good people... They were still people though. It wasn't worth finding out if they were going to be friendly to me though. I held up my gun ready for him to open the stall.
"Just go into the other stall... This ones for shitting..." The guy said from right beside me. These dudes were not good... Just keep that thought it mind, they were shitting in toilets and thinking that it was fun and games.
"Yeah that's what Im doing right now dickhead..." The other guy said back at him. You could tell just by the way they talked to each other they would not be friendly to me.
The stall began to open, I realized last second that maybe I should have locked it when I had heard them outside the gas station. But it was too late now, and that would just make it more obvious that there was somewhere in there with them.
As soon as I saw the guy I shot, the other dude yelled at him as soon as I did, and his body flopped down to the floor, it was a perfect shot to the head, just like the way you needed to do it to the dead, make sure that they had no chance of fighting back, Christian had taught me.
"The hell was that?! You good man!" The guy said. The other guy all of the sudden didn't sound so evil in the first place. My mother had told everyone to talk before you shoot... I listened to what Christian had told me though. I was beginning to regret that, the dude actually sounded like he was genuinely worried about the other guy.
But I heard the other dude click up his pistol, I knew what had to be done, if he came out and saw that his friend was dead he would kill me without hesitation. I had already made my mistake, I then began shooting in the stall, the guy was still on the toilet so that is the area I aimed... I shot every bullet in my gun making sure that I did not miss every single one.
I saw the guy was still in his spot in the stall. For a second I then pulled magazine out of my bag to reload. But the guy was still just completely still. Just sitting there like nothing had ever happened.
I pulled my magazine out and put in my gun ready to shoot again, I only had to magazines left I would have to be careful with the ammo that I had. I was ready to shoot again until I saw the blood that was oozing from out of his body... It was dripping all over the floor and beginning to make a puddle.
I looked at the first guy I had killed, it was a bit sad that it had to go down this way but it was the world that we lived in now. I picked up the first dude to look around to see what he had. He didn't have a gun on him but I could see that he did have a knife on him.
This was the way that it had to go... I didn't want to find out what they would have done to me, I looked at the first guy sadly... But I could see by the look on his face and the scar that was on his eye spots, he did not look like he was a friendly sort of person.
I shook my head, I had to stop worrying so much about it, I had done exactly what Christian had told me to do, he knew more about the world out here than I did, even though sometimes I pretended like I knew everything about it.
I didn't want to go into the first stall just thinking about how I had just killed 2 people... Maybe he was still alive, if he was he would not be friendly to me. But clearly he was still not alive, there was blood everywhere and it was oozing towards the direction that I was in.
I had to go in... I had to see what was in there, there could and would be supplies on one of the guys. I then realized that they were not alone as I heard another guy, who's voice seemed a bit familiar that was yelling at the guys I had just killed to make sure they were still okay. I heard the door open to the gas station.
"Are you guys okay? We heard the shots! You guys need me to come in and help." The guy said to the guy I had just killed. I could have sworn I had heard that voice before. I had to do my best impression to make sure that he did not come into the bathroom that I was in. He would if I did not say something, I thought about just straight up telling the guy what happened, that would be a mistake though.
"Yeah sorry, was just a rat... Im scared as hell of those things!" I yelled back at him. I did my best to sound like him, even though my voice was a bit squeaky compared to that dudes deep voice it still sort of sounded like him.
He moved closer for a moment as I heard him walking near the bathroom, I clicked my pistol just in case I needed to kill another, clearly that guy wasn't the last one as well. I had to get out of here, I didn't know how many there really was out there.
"I thought you weren't scared of anything! You're a pussy now?" The guy said to me. I realized my mistake and I didn't think about him telling those dudes something like that. No one would have, I just stayed silent, I didn't want to test my luck, if I had to kill him then I would. The dude just stayed silent for a little bit and then he began talking again. "Alright... Hurry the fuck up! We don't have all day, we got to keep scouting and go back and tell them about the base that they are ready!"
I closed my eyes. He then walked away and then left the front of the gas station. I was about ready to head out and run through the back of the gas station.
But clearly that other dude had a weapon with some ammo on him, I would have to get that and go down fighting if it came down to that.
I opened the stall and saw the guy, who had a different skin color but the exact same scar in the exact same eye as the other guy had. I wondered what that was about. Maybe they were apart of a group that they were forced to get those on their eyes.
I shook my head and looked on his body, the guy was definitely dead, I saw all the bullet wounds that I had caused all over his body. These dudes were not good dudes, I just had to keep that thought in mind as I scavenged his body.
"Now I am a real scavenger..." I whispered to myself. It was a bad joke that no one would have laughed at if they knew what the reasoning was behind it. The guy I saw had a rifle on his back and a pistol that was in his hand.
On his belt I saw that he had a couple of magazines clearly for the assault rifle and a couple of them that were for the pistol that he had in hand, the dude did not have silencers for either one of them.
Maybe that group that they were apart of didn't have those types of things on them. I thanked myself for that because if they did have silencers then that dude would have known I was lying about seeing a rat and shooting at it.
It was a bad reason for shooting but the dude was dumb enough to believe what I said. I grabbed the pistol and the magazines, luckily it was the same type that I used, and I grabbed all of it and put in my bag that was in the other stall. The blood pool was beginning to head towards it and I pulled it away and moved it further back in the bathroom.
I put all of the magazines into the back of my bag and kept a few mags in my belt. I then put the assault rifle on my back just like the way the other dude had been carrying it. I then headed out of the bathroom and turned to the left.
I knew how all the sheetz worked and they were exactly the same. The janitorial room was back here and I knew there was a back door to get out.
As soon as I got out I would just have to start running in the opposite direction before someone came into the stalls and found out what had happened. I found the back exit very fast and then opened it.
It felt good to finally be back into the actual world and get some air. I opened my eyes back up realizing the situation that I was in and knew that I did not have time for these sort of games. They had already taken long enough and the dude would walk back in and ask again, this time there wouldn't be a response and he would for sure know that someone was lying as soon as he walked into the bathroom.
I heard a couple of guys talking and I figured I would sneak a peek to see how many there really were, I saw to and there was someone else sitting there behind them that I could not really catch I glimpse of.
So bare minimum there were 3, I thought about fighting them, I had a rifle and I wasn't half bad with that even though I had only used it once. They had 6 bags on them as far as I could count, I noticed one of the bags to be the exact same bag that Christian had, but I shook my head even thinking about it.
Christian was probably out there somewhere dead, it was just me and myself now. 6 of the bags, as far as I could see meant that I would have a lot of supplies on hand...
This could actually be useful, I was still a bit low on ammo and there would most certainly be a good amount of food on them. With the 6 of them... I had taken down 2 and I could see 3 others... Where was the 4th? The answer to that question came very quickly.
The guy that had gone inside earlier shouted to the other guys. I realized that I had taken to long, I had to make a quick decision, run and hope I could run faster than them or fight. I threw off my bag, no matter what I couldn't have that on me.
I made a quick decision, I wouldn't make it long with no food and water, 1 vs 4? Odds are, they were better than me and trained more than me, they were bigger and stronger but I wouldn't make it a day without food and water, they could easily catch up to me.
The 2 guys in the front got up and ran into the gas station, the 3rd guy was just completely still with his back turned. If I could shoot him then I would only have to take 3 others down.
The guy with his back turned, then turned in the direction that the other guys had gone. As soon as I saw him I instantly knew who it was, it was a good thing I had taken a while to make this decision!
Christian! He had him hands wrapped behind his back and his mouth was taped shut. He didn't talk all that much in the first place so maybe they didn't really need him to do that. He pulled himself up, he had him legs together as well but he began hopping away from them.
I knew they would get back to him before he could get far enough away with how slow he was walking. I stopped thinking and then I ran over too him.
He saw me as I began running over and he stopped himself, I grabbed out my knife and dropped him to ground so that maybe they wouldn't see us if they ran back out or knew the direction that I had gone.
He tried talking but his words were grumbled through the tape that was on his mouth. I pulled that off so that I could here what he was saying, it could be something important.
"Kid hurry up! They've got your sisters man... But he ain't the same anymore, give me that rifle." He told me. I wondered what he was talking about but suddenly it made a lot more sense. I now realized why I could have sworn I remembered hearing that voice before.
I began cutting through the ropes that had him layed down. I once I was through the part on his hands I threw the rifle at him.
The magazine was already stacked, he was still better at it then I was no matter how good I was becoming.  The guys ran back out from the front, I heard one of the guys yelling.
I knew he wasn't lying as soon as I saw him, he had the exact same scar that the rest of them had... Im assuming that it meant he had joined them... I had so many questions but not enough time to ask them.
I heard Christian click off the safety on the rifle and then he grunted to me.
"Kid... Its about to get bad..."
