My heart stopped... All I could think about was Liam, Angela would be fine. He was so young, the first time he was too young for him to remember that... This was different, this would be way worse. We had to go immediately, as fast as possible!
The room was quiet, no one said anything. Then all of the sudden I heard laughing from the corner of the room. It was Jose... He was smiling at us and just laughing, I wanted to punch him so badly. I almost would say I wanted to kill him. We would have known about this a while ago if he had not have lied about the walkies.
"Oh yes!!! You and all you're friends are dead now... We are coming for this group next..." Jose said, he then continued laughing. All of the sudden Kristan stood up and turned right towards him. She didn't run towards him or anything she just looked right at him and his smile went away.
All of the sudden she whipped out her pistol and shot him right on his head. The room was small, the sound vibrated everywhere extremely loudly, it seemed like my eardrums were about to bust. Everyone else seemed perfectly okay with it, no one even seemed to noticed the ringing that were in their ears.
"Alright, you guys have to go... Hurry!" Kristan said to us. I had just been standing completely still, I could only think of the worst things possible. Going over and finding Liam sitting there dead on the pavement. Angela sitting there dead as well, holding him closely...
My mind came back to the presence, Christian was already up, and he was pulling me up as fast as he possibly could. I got as right away and looked around for what to do next.
I didn't know what to do, all I could think about was the worst things potentially becoming a reality. But I eventually got up from where I was sitting from on the chair. Tony was standing still not even looking at us. He walked over to where Jose was sitting...
"This dude was a bad dude... But he was nothing compared to the people that own this group..." Tony said to himself. He then turned around looking right towards us. Christian was sitting there looking at him waiting for him to follow us.
"Come on Tony we have to hurry..." Christian said to him. Tony just shook his head which confused me greatly. Surely he wanted to see Angela, did he not care about her anymore. I would have been thinking about her everyday for the last couple of years.
"You go... I have to stay back here... 2 people will be less than 3 as well, you guys come back when you have saved them... I will expect a lot of people coming as well, I have to make sure the group is ready to be fed..." Tony said to Christian. Christian nodded and then he looked right at me. I was afraid, not for my own life, but for my brothers and my sisters...
I wasn't just afraid for them, I had grown a bit fond of a lot of people in the community, I didn't want any of them to die, everyone there were innocent and great people.
Kristan looked at us and then held us back for a few moments. It kind of annoyed me because I wanted to get there as soon as possible, every second mattered, we didn't really know how much time we had to save all of them.
"Your weapons will be with Aidan, tell him the code which is Jaywing and then tell him what is going on, he is faster and steadier than you are he will follow you and he will help you. I will supply you with bags of all your necessities of food and a little bit of ammo... You have to have your bags light if your going to get there fast." Kristan said to us. We both nodded and Kristan whistled to the gate person to open the gates for all of us.
I looked back at Jose 1 last time. I felt bad for him, he grew up in that community I'm sure all they taught him was evil, otherwise he did not seem like a terrible person. I just shook my head and turned back to where I was going.
Tony was going to be stuck here, I felt bad for him, maybe he had feeling for another woman now that was in his community. Maybe that's why he didn't want to go and see Angela. Maybe I was thinking to deep into it, he could actually just not want to slow us down.
He seemed to be bigger and stronger than when I last remembered him, but at the same time that also made him a little bit slower.
The lady opened the key and then we all got up as fast as we possibly could. Kristan nodded to Christian and showed him the way to take us to where Aidan was hiding out at. I followed Christian. Once again my mind went back to where Liam and Angela where sitting there dead on the pavement.
All I could think about was a bunch of nasty looking dudes attacking Angela and Liam, trying to do things to them, and then eventually shooting them when Angela tried to fight back. My body shivered and Christian looked at me as if noticing exactly what I was thinking.
"Don't worry kid... We will save them, I promise..." He said to me. I nodded, I wanted to believe him, but based off of my type of luck they were already there... All I could think of was Liam sitting beside Angela bleeding out and crying...
This was not fair, but this was the life that we were stuck in now... It was a terrible world and I hated it, I wished sometimes Liam was never born to be in a part of this world. But I loved him so much I could not think of a world without him. And all I could think was that I was about to have a world without him.
We landed into where Aidan was at and he looked at us a little bit confused and then looked behind our backs as if he was waiting for Kristan. Which he probably was, at this point in his head he was probably thinking that we must have killed her.
"Jaywing... Our community is about to get attacked, Kristan told me that you would help us we have to go right now..." Christian said to him. He didn't even look a bit slightly confused, he didn't ask any questions which kind of surprised me. Im sure that Kristan had told him all types of scenarios for different words.
"Alright... We have to get stuff... If your place is over a 2 days walk and we are going to be running, we will get dehydrated really fast." Aidan said to us. Christian nodded and I just stood there trying not to think of all the terrible things that might be happening at the exact moment.
"Kristan said she was setting up bags for us right now..." I said to him. He nodded and then handed Christian his pistol and rifle that he slung to his back. Then he handed me my pistol and then nodded and stood up waiting for Kristan to head back with all of our bags.
Within seconds of him standing up Kristan was back with another lady carrying all 3 bags with her. She looked at Aidan and then kissed him. It sort of surprised me because I didn't think that they were in any sort of relationship with each other.
"Stay safe out there... I know you will be, take care of them..." She said to him. He nodded and then she looked at the 2 of us and smiled. "You guys will get there on time, and you will save your community... Think positive, and positive will happen."
Those were the exact things Christian would tell me except he would say "if you think negative, negative will happen." But in the end it meant the exact same thing I suppose. I got up from the small bench that I was sitting on and then looked at Christian for the okay.
"Alright we have to go..." Christian said to us. Aidan nodded and I did the same. Kristan waved at us goodbye and then the dudes at the front gate nodded to us when they saw that Aidan was with us. They then opened the gates and we began heading off.
We were not running, we were jogging, Christian always told me to do that because it would basically give us unlimited stamina. With a smaller bag with less stuff in it also helped me out a lot, I felt like I could run but I would trust Christians decisions.
Aidan was jogging a lot faster than us and Christian had to yell at him a couple of times to slow him down quiet a bit. If anything we were the ones slowing him down, I was a bit surprised he knew the way to go but at the same time Kristan had told us that they were following us for quiet a while.
We continued going and I was starting to feel a bit worn out, we had already gone all the way down the mountain at this point and I just wanted to rest and get something to eat. But I knew that we could not, every second mattered like Christian had told me several times.
I heard the water bottles juggling around and figured I could probably have a little bit of water and still be jogging at the same time.
It was a bit hard for me to drink the water as I came to find out but I did not want to slow us down any at all, I tried to stop thinking about Liam and Angela but it was so hard to not just think of the worst possible things that could be happening the them.
I wanted to sleep, I was starting to feel a bit tired as well... I hadn't slept well last night at all, it seemed like we had been out here jogging for days, but it had only been maybe 5 or 6 hours. But as the sun was setting I knew that we were going to have to go all night through this.
Even though it was hard to see, the dead were a bit faster, stronger, quieter, they could see better at night we had to keep going. Every second mattered, I just had to keep those thoughts in my head, at this point tho even Christian was going a bit faster than me.
I wanted to just get on the ground and sleep, this had been the most I had gone in one day ever, it was getting dark out at this point, but if I didn't think of Liam then maybe I would just think about sleeping... We had to keep going... I just kept telling myself that over and over.
Aidan was going so fast, and Christian was going fast as well, I felt exhausted... Every part of my body felt worn out, I had to keep going... Liam... Angela, that's all I could think.
By now it was fully dark outside and I could hardly see either one of them, Aidan pulled out a flashlight however and nodded to both me and Christian. By now my eyes were so used to the dark when the light came my way it actually kind of hurt my eyes.
"You guys have flashlights as well, use them..." Aidan said. Me and Christian both searched through our bags and eventually I found the flashlight. I used it looking a bit further down to the ground. By now Aidan didn't know where to go so Christian was taking the lead.
Christian looked at me, he could tell almost what I was thinking in my head it seemed. He was always good at just reading people thoughts just based on the way they looked. It kind of creeped me out some times, I thought strange sexual thoughts sometimes and I didn't want him to hear what I was thinking.
Maybe I was thinking to deep into that though, it just kind of weirds me out sometimes.
"Don't worry kid, we will save him... We will save everyone in that community, they should be ready for the attack." He said to me. Aidan looked at him as if he did not believe Christian in the first place.
"Our group had over a thousand, they have thousands, maybe even more back at their base... You don't know what you are getting into..." Aidan said to him. It made Christian shut up... He didn't say a single thing to me or him for the rest of the night.
Now I don't even Christian believed that the community could even fight them off. My body seemed like it was about to die... I wanted to crawl over, I knew I could not. I knew that if I did we might not wake up to see Liam in the morning, or Angela, wherever she was at in this exact moment in time.
The sun was beginning to rise in the sky, I could see the gates are the way through the hills... From this angle it looked like everything was safe and sound, I thanked the heavens for that, I didn't want to find Liam dead in the daycare or wherever he was at right now.
But as we got closer and as the sun put light on the horizon I could see a couple of things that did not seem too normal out in the horizon. I could tell that Christian and Aidan noticed it as well so it was not just me thinking crazy...
There's no way, that guy said days!!! Not less than a day... How could they already be there...
"Maybe its just some house's lighting up some fires who knows..." Aidan said. Maybe he could be right, maybe we were all thinking to deep into that. Maybe we would across the hill and see the watch guards waving at us when they saw us.
But as soon as we got over the last hill, all my tainted thoughts became a reality... They had already gotten there, it was too late... How? They said in a few days!!! Christian sat down on the rocky road and just stared at it. I sat down with him and almost wanted to cry.
The walls were knocked down everywhere... The houses where almost all on fire and I could just see the dead from all directions just walking through it... Everywhere, nearly every section of the wall... I could see dead walking through the streets... If anyone was alive they would have the be in cellers because every house was burning down and dead where everywhere. There seemed like there was no sort of life that was around anywhere... There was no way they were all dead, maybe they had been taken in... Tony said they did that to the kids in women...
I wanted to kill the leader of that group, all I could think about right now was Liam being thrown to the ground and being raped by a much of big fat grown men. I shivered I leaned up against Christian... Aidan just sat there looking at the community sadly. He had no words, Christian did though.
"This is the end..."
