After a full year of searching for orochimaru's new village jiraiya had finally narrowed the location down to somewhere in Rice country.
But what he wasn't aware of was that the base of the village was rigged with multiple traps which consisted of some of the most toxic snake's in the elemental nations.
A species of pit vipers so venomous that one bite would hospitalize him for a full week.
That species... was the tokara mamushi.
When he reported to the council that he found orochimaru's hideout and he's got a pair of his own children.
well you could guess where danzo's mind was immediately heading.
Danzo then said.
"If he's had children then we must either bring them back here to the hidden leaf village to be a shinobi or kill them for their fathers actions."
And jiraiya said.
"Now hold on just a minute you psychotic war hawk. This is orochimaru we're talking about.
He's also got tsunade with him. She joined him by choice alongside his wife Anko mitarashi.
Do you really think that kidnapping his children. Without him knowing.. Is the smartest thing to do???.
If I know orochimaru like I do. He's more then likely rigged the children's room with multiple traps.
What kind of trap's you may ask???. Well let's just say that you might be interested in tempting a coiled snake ready to strike but I'm not.
Believe me when I say that there's no way your getting in the hidden sound village undetected or uninjured.
All of the entry and exit points are guarded by venomous snake's."
Jiraiya then pulled out a folder with a picture of the snakes that were guarding the entrances.

Seeing what type of snake it was the civilian council was worried for multiple reasons.
The first reason was that if these particular snake's were guarding the children this would be classified as a suicide mission.
The second reason was the fact that they had no idea just how many of these snake's were guarding orochimaru's children either.
Mebuki Haruno then said.
"I agree with Lord jiraiya on this one. If we don't know how many of these venomous snake's are hidden protecting the children let alone the village entrances.
Well I'd rather not be put in the hospital for a week thank you very much. Besides. If we leave them alone eventually they will come to us. All we must do is wait.
