Percy realy wasn't amused by these gladiator games. And the fact his ancestor was some great hero wasn't that good either. Plus thinking about annabeth made his head and his heart hurt. Hazel wasn't helping, she was nice and in the begining she was the only one willing to put money on percy winning, basically meaning she was now rich. Frank was his next and last opponent. About 3/4 of the colliseum cheered frank the rest percy. It was obviouse people had more faith after the skills percy had demonstrated how ever un roman they were.
He picked his javelin and square sheild not like the legionaire ones, this one was smaller and more agile better for 1/1 fights.
'You can do it percy, but make sure you don't underestimate frank.' Hazel said to him.
'I know,' with two godly sides, great gramother being bellona and the father being mars frank was literaly born for fighting.
Frank lunged fist thrusting his javelin i deflected with my sheil and retaliated. He dodged and junped thrusting again this time Percy stubled and dropped his javelin there were lots of cheers and groans. But as frank came for his finishing strike percy blocked with his sheild and drew sword spinning and slashing the top off of franks javeling and sheild bashing him for good measure.
There was a stunned silence, frank stood blood pouring from his wound momentaraly shocked by percys move but percy saw how quickley he gathere his wits threw his javelin down and drew his glaius now percy had the upper hannd being the better swordsman and having the longer sword.
Fank made a feint to the left followed by an over head cut but percy wasn't their he'd seen move and was now behind frank. Frank managed to spin and just intercept riptide, blocking a strike that would have rendered frank unconsious.
They sparred like this but it was clear percy was faster and had more skill than frank, even thought the african american boy he was facing much was much stronger. Percy wondered what frank was thinking as percy time and time again out classed him. There fighting styles were completely different and percy realized having no memory played to his advantage, everything he did it had to be instinct but frank was more easily confused by the different style, but that wasn't to say percy wasn't from time to time put off ballance but it was clear who had most of the advantage.
When percy disarmed frank their was no silence the fight had been going on for 15 minutes and they were both panting and sweating but it was clear percy was a better swordsman than frank. Their were still groans and whoops from the people that had put money on them but as percy removed his sword point from franks chest a runner came in.
'Greeks.' he yelled 'Greeks.'
'What where?' Asked Reyna immediatley taking control and glaring at the corriar.
'They've come of a greek ship that flew from the sky and their demanding to see percy jackson.'
'Flew from the sky?' Varrus asked 'And what would they want from him?' He asked pointing at percy.
'I don't know sir but thats what they said.'
When every one was finally out reyna had the legion march into position with percy next to her.
He'd sheathed riptide and was wondering what ship flying greek people wanted from him. Despite everything he hoped Annabeth was on that ship he hoped it would take him home.
But percy discovere the fates were cruel when he saw the ship it wasn't even a physical thing it was gohstly and filled with gohstly theban sodgiers, some of which had come out and at there head stood someone with some resembalence to percy but more like a distant relative like a cousin or an uncle he was about 30 years old and he sared straight at percy with no emotion and in a monotone voice he said
'Hello my boy, tell your roman friends not to attack my men so we can speak, there is much to be done.'
