WARNINGS: MENTIONS OF SMUT
Elizabeth wrapped her arms around Santiago's neck as he stared at her with love and adoration. She played with the tips of his hair.
"This is the last night we have together before my mission." Elizabeth whispered before Santiago pressed his finger against her lips.
"Let's just enjoy tonight." Santiago whispered, pressing a gentle kiss to her lips.
She kissed him back, her fingers raking through his hair as he groaned against her lips. His hands began sliding up and down her body, eventually coming to a rest on her thighs.
"Are you taking Ripper with you?" Santiago asked as he pulled away, a string of saliva connecting their lips.
"Of course I'm taking Ripper. She's my partner." The woman huffed, glancing at the empty dog bed near their bed.
Santiago sighed softly, nodding in response. His eyes filled with sadness, but he knew it was a part of the job. Elizabeth gently cupped his face in her hands, and the man leaned into her touch.
"Act as though I'm coming back, Santi." She whispered with a nervous laugh.
"You are coming back." He told her.
"I am."
The front door of their apartment opened, and Elizabeth left her boyfriend's grasp to go peer out the window. Santiago came up behind her and started running his hands up and down her body again, grinding up against her. The woman's eyes fluttered as she reached her hands behind her to feel her boyfriend.
"You wanna do this with the neighbors here?"
She whispered, tilting her head to the side as he kissed at her neck."Don't act like you don't enjoy the adrenaline."
"You will be the death of me, Garcia."
Elizabeth turned in his arms as Santiago pulled his shirt off. Her fingers traced up and down his chest before she pulled off her shirt as well.
"God, you're so beautiful." The man growled.
"Why don't you show me then?" She smirked before she was picked up and placed onto the bed.
The couple lay curled up under the covers, their limbs tangled with each other's. Santiago traced shapes on her stomach as his other arm wrapped around her. Elizabeth snuggled closer into her boyfriend's chest, enjoying the warmth emanating from his body.
Ripper, Elizabeth's K9 dog, leapt onto the bed with them, causing the couple to laugh as the dog walked on top of both of them. The Belgian Malinois then plopped down on her corner of the bed, curling up in a ball.
Elizabeth smiled softly before she went to get up, only to be pulled back by Santiago.
"You're so warm. ¿Adónde vas? (Where are you going?)"The woman shuddered at the language switch.
"Para vestirme. (To get dressed.)"
"Just do that tomorrow."
Elizabeth sighed softly, but she nodded. The skin-to-skin contact felt nice. She smiled happily, turning in Santiago's arms so she could face him. She pecked his lips, causing him to smile at her.
"I'm going to miss you, Eliza." He told her.
"It'll be a simple job, Santi. In and out."
Santiago couldn't help the pit in his stomach. Something felt wrong, but he didn't know what. Elizabeth gently caressed his cheek.
"What's wrong?" She asked.
"Nothing."
"You crease your brow when you're thinking."
"Damn you," he teased.
"Mi amor, what's going on? What's going on in that brain of yours?"
"Something feels wrong."
Elizabeth couldn't lie. She felt it too.
"It's just anxiety. It'll go off without a hitch."
Do you really believe that, Jäger?
She sighed softly, resting her head against Santiago's chest. She closed her eyes, letting his presence soothe her. Everything was going to be fine, she told herself over and over again. She and Ripper were going to be fine. They were going to come home to Santiago, and it'll be somewhat normal again.
"Be careful at work tomorrow." Elizabeth whispered into his skin.
"Oh, darling you don't need to worry about me."
"I know, but police work is dangerous."
"So is military work."
Elizabeth laughed softly, looking up at him. "I love you Santiago."
"I love you too, Elizabeth."
The two drifted off to sleep in each other's arms.
