"what do you think their news is" I whisper to Toni as we cuddle with a sleeping Ava on the couch
"I honestly have no clue, they haven't told me anything" Toni replies shrugging her shoulder
I'm just about to reply when there's a light knock on the door.
"I'll answer it, you go put Ava to bed," I tell Toni as I get up to answer the door
"Hey guys, Tonis just putting Ava to sleep she'll be down in two secs," I say as I open the door to Christen and Tobin
"I forgot how nice your place is," Christen says waking in
"We spent a while picking this one," I say glancing around out home
"Should we just take our bags straight up?" Tobin asks
"Yeah, you guys know where your room is right?" I ask the married couple
"Yep, I still can't believe you gave us our own room in your house," Christen says laughing as we walk up the stairs
"it was all Toni's idea, she really sees you guys like a family and wanted you to feel welcome here," I tell them remembering the conversation we had when picking the house to buy
"We love you guys like family too which leads us to the news we have to share actually," Tobin says just as Toni walks out Avas room
"Hey guys, Ava just went to sleep so we're good for some adult juice," Toni says winking at us all
"they are actually about to tell us their news babe," I tell Toni who look at the two curiously
"you guys sit down then and I'll get everyone a drink so you can tell us," She says and jogs off to the kitchen.
"here you go Tobs," She says handing her a beer
"and a nice glass for you two lovely ladies," Toni says passing us a glass of wine
"well I actually can't have this anymore," Christen says slowly putting her glass down.
"No way!" I say in complete shock understanding straight away what she's saying
"You're kidding right?!" I ask
"Nope and you guys are the first to know," Tobin says making me smile
"I'm confused as to what's going in right now," Toni says still having not clicked on
"maybe this will help," Christen says and reaches for her back and pulls out a small photo
"wait! Is this yours!" Toni says now knowing what's going on
"yep, 16 weeks yesterday" Christen says and pulls her shirt up to reveal a small bump
"oh my God, this is amazing guys, congratulations!" I say happily, smiling slightly at the people I think of as family telling us they're having a baby
"Bro, congrats!" Toni says and her and Tobin do their little fist bumpy thing
"but we actually wanted to ask you something important," Tobin says causing me to from a little
"of course, anything," I say
"will you be this little babies godparent?" Christen says
"of course we will!" I say happily and hug Christen tightly again
"little Ava can finally have a friend to play with" Toni says making us all chuckle a little
