She wanted to kill him, for the last few hours, 'Hunter' had been following her. She knew what he was doing, thinking that she needed protection, and tagging along so that the mole couldn't reach her. But whenever she turned, she saw his eyes glues to her ass. He would then look up guilty (with pleasure). He stared at her face the whole two hours when she was going through the paperwork for that week.
When Anne (Susie's assistant), brought in some food for them, and she didn't touch it, he got up and began to feed her. Now he was trying to feed her! Who did he think he was! Her wolf was ecstatic. Mate is feeding us! But she was furious!
'What do you think you are doing?', she stopped checking the food bills and look at the forkful of lasagna he was trying to push in her face.
He gave a cute smile. 'It was getting cold, and you didn't have anything after breakfast, and that was also five hours ago. So... lasagna?' She was about to. give in. She wanted to eat. It smelled SO good.
'Well,' she said, 'you had breakfast when I did too. So why don't you eat, and I'll eat when later, maybe after training today.' She pleaded hopefully that he won't hate the idea.
'Hunter' seemed to think about it. He said, ' so you want me to see my mate, who just revived from a wolfsbane injury, and has been working on practically an empty stomach for the past few hours, stay hungry, while I eat her food?'
Riley was shocked after hearing that. Her mouth hung open, and seeing that, he immediately pushed food in her mouth, and she was forced to chew. He then grinned his hundred watt smile.
Riley held up a finger as he pushed another bite towards her. He seemed to glare when she stopped him, but she tried to speak. 'We need to talk for a bit.'
He hesitated, but then nodded. 'Okay. Talk.'

Prince Ivan Axton
He was in love with her. She was so frustrating! He tried to be reasonable. She hadn't eaten, and he was feeding her. She refused completely when he tried to help her with the paperwork. He had been glued to her for hours, and she acted as she felt nothing.
Well, she wanted to talk now. When he looked at her lips, talking wasn't one of the things he wanted them to do. She wanted to feel her rosy, full lips and under his, and he wanted her to scream his name every time his lips teased at her skin.
He looked back at her. She was looking at him expectantly, as if she was expecting a reply. Shit, what did she ask him?
'Umm, ... yeah?' he answered, feeling stupid.
She looked cross now. 'Were you not listening to a thin I was saying?'
'I am sorry,' he immediately apologized. He didn't want her to be mad at him.
Riley looked a bit surprised. Evidently, she didn't expect a lycan to apologize. 'Its okay. I was just. thanking you for taking the wolfsbane out of my system. I mean, you didn't have to do that, I would have recovered eventually.' She looked grateful.
Ivan was unsure of how to answer this. He had been beyond angry when the pack doctor was unable to take out the wolfsbane out of her system. When he had taken the wolfsbane out of her, he didn't care about his own health. It had felt he had been drinking acid, but he was okay with that. Leave okay, he was relieved that it was no longer affecting Riley. He had given a few safety orders, before he too passed out from the poison.
'You really don't have to say anything. I would lay my life down for you.' He was earnest. He was Riley too saw the sincerity behind his words. But instead of being wooed, she became angry. 'Then why don't you trust me? You refuse to even tell me your name!'
Ivan hung his head low. I am sorry, but I can't, he wanted to tell her, ashamed of himself.
'So this is how its going to be?' she screamed now. 'You can't even trust me with your name, and you want me to share my pack's paperwork, and release your friends!'
'We absolutely cannot start a relationship like this! If you are scared of the royals, I'll pay the compensation for your action, but I can't have my mate lie to me every time he opens his mouth.'
Ivan though upset with himself, was upset too. He couldn't stand anyone shouting at him, even if it was his mate. 'I said I am sorry, and cannot reveal anything to you yet! But you have to give me a chance. I am still me.'
Ivan knew what she was going to say before she even said it. 'I can't. I am sorry.'
Ivan felt like hot iron rods were poking his chest. But he knew what he had to do, to. keep. her safe. He had to stay away from her. She may be the leader of the strongest pack, but the royal army had lycans in it. They could hurt her pack. They could hurt her.
'You know what. You are right. You should leave and never come back. You can deal with the traitor yourself now, that you know one exists. I am DONE. Reject me now.'
He saw Riley shocked, and could see the hurt in her eyes.
'I... . I can't. I don't know your name to even reject you.' Riley had been looking down at her shoes, now now looked up, with tears filling her eyes.
Ivan felt like such an asshole. But if he told her who he was, she would definitely hate him. He was wanted for murder. She would hate him if she didn't believe him. She might even be scared of him. And then she would definitely reject him, because she would know his name. And then he would be killed before he would find out who killed his family.
So he did all he could in that moment. He put his arms around her. She didn't push him away, and instead leaned into his chest, as she realized that this was going to be a difficult time for her.
