The table was cold against my back; I could hear their wailing outside. The screams of anguish and sorrow. The cries of a grieving mother and an angry father. They were crying for him and not for me. His loss, not mine. His life. Mine paled compared to his in their eyes.

"I'm sorry but after what he did to you, I-I couldn't... I had to do it. I had to. Until I see you again, stay safe. Please." I saw the glint of his tears as he gently reached down and brushed my hair out of my eyes.
He smiled at me gently as the door exploded into sharps of wood, the chunks of wood flying around the dim stone room, hitting the walls with dull thumps. The smile didn't leave his face as they grabbed him and dragged him from the house.
"Don't forget his druslan," a gruff voice snapped, his white breath curling in the still air.
A pair of strong arms curled around my lifeless body and I was lifted off the stone table. My body was lifted from that table but a part of me was forever stained into those dead hard stones.
A rape, a murder, and an imprisonment. That's how it all started.
