Two days have passed since we first entered the undergound tunnels of the tomb and as time passed by, this whole expedition became more and more serious. We proceeded exploring the further parts of the tunnels, although it was basically only the beggining of them. Exploring the old building for hours and writing tons of reports was really exhausting, but I didn't mind. After all, this was what I loved to do.
Today, Juho and I were walking down the stairs together in order to get something to eat from the hotel's reastaurant.
"So," He started. "Have you found yourself a crush yet?"
"You're back with your nonesense, I see." I said, avoiding the question.
"That's not a no, so I'll take it as a yes." He grinned with a satisfied expression of a cat who had just caught a mouse.
As much as I wanted to, I just couldn't play this game of pretending anymore.
"So what if I did?"
"...Well, nothing." He said, his satisfied smile turning into a shocked expression. This answer of mine was not expected at all and that was exactly what his face was telling right now. "It's not a bad thing. On the contrary, it's a great one!"
I just stared at him, waiting for the question to hit me. Lucky for me, he saved me from waiting, since the question came out of his mouth instantly.
"Who's the lucky guy?" He asked.
"Our guide, Zhang Ming." I deadpanned, and Juho just rolled his eyes.
"Very funny, Jaein. I prefer older women, so I can't really judge, but I know you're lying. So let me at least guess who it is."
"Alright, if you have to." I said, pretending that I was bored. But the truth was, I was excited to see if he would get it right, like a young girl that just told her best friend about her crush.
"Okay," He said, narrowing his eyes to think better. "I'd like it to be Sanghyuk, since he seems like a pretty chill and smart guy, but I'm guessing it's not him, is it?"
"Nope." I said. "I mean, he's cute, yeah. But it's not him who I'm thinking about."
"Alright... Well, I'd say it's Seokwoo because of the jacket he gave you a few days ago, but... no."
"What?" I asked, not understanding why he suddenly stopped. "What is it?"
"Is it Inseong?" Juho suddenly asked.
I only looked at my feet, already feeling blood rushing to my cheeks.
"Oh, so it is Inseong." Juho chuckled. "I should've known from the start."
"Look, just... don't tell him, okay?" I asked quietly.
"Why? If he never finds out, you'll have no chance, Jaein. Unless you're good at telepathy, which I honestly doubt." He said.
"Ouch, cancelling my telepathy skills just like that?"
"Stop turning this into a joke, Jaein! You're like one of those people who writes 'lmao' at the end of every message to hide the pain!" Juho stated.
"Well didn't you just expose me, cousin?" I said ironically, raising a brow, but then bursting into laughter. "I'm sorry, Juho, my feelings have kind of been all over the place lately. I don't even know what I'm saying anymore."
"I can see that." He smiled understandingly. "Anyways, do you want me to maybe give Inseong a hint or something? That way you can see his reaction and you'll know what to do about him."
I stopped for a moment to think.
"Alright, do that. I have nothing do lose, anyway." I said.
"...Only your credit card for a whole month." Juho mumbled under his breath.
