One month has passed since the final-year expedition ended.
Someone would, perhaprs, expect me to say the already well-known words: "everything went back to normal."
But honestly, nothing stayed the same.
First of all, Principal Park was right.
I made a lot of amazing friends.
Today in particular, I was walking out of my last class with Youngkyun and Chanhee. We were just casually talking and laughing at one of Chanhee's silly jokes when we saw the rest of the group down the hallway.
"If it isn't the hero of our college, Kim Youngbin!" Yougkyun joked, greeting the others, while Youngbin just smiled shyly.
Ever since we came back, the younger students constantly kept praising him for the bravery that he showed during the expedition, and he deserved every bit of it.
I took a good look at them. Sanghyuk and Jaeyoon also seemed happy. The whole expedition was a rather scary experience for them, considering what happened, but I was glad to see that they were doing better now.
Unfortunately, I couldn't really say the same for Inseong, who was also there. Despite giving me one of his polite smiles when we exchanged looks, I couldn't be decieved. He looked quite worried.
"Inseong, what's wrong?" I asked him.
"...Haven't you heard? Today is the day of Taeyang and Seokwoo's trial. And from what I heard, they might get away."
My smile immediately faded away when I remembered Seokwoo and Taeyang, who I haven't seen ever since we came back.
"Look, even if they get away, I don't think they'll be coming back here. They know they are guilty." Sanghyuk tried to comfort him.
"Yes, besides, you got us now." Jaeyoon added. "You don't have to worry."
"They're right, Inseong." I said, putting my hand on his shoulder. "You're safe when you are with us. Plus, from what we witnessed back then, I think Taeyang is too much of a coward to ever try anything again. And Seokwoo..."
"We'll deal wih him if he ever comes back and tries anything, trust me." Youngkyun finished my sentence, which caused both of us to smile.
"Thank you, guys." Inseong smiled, too. "Truth to be told, I was feeling quite lonely when we started this whole adventure. But I am so glad you are my friends now."
"I think that is somehing we can all agree on." I sad, pulling everyone into a huge group hug.

A couple of minutes later, Youngkyun and I were standing alone in front of the college building, since everyone else went home.
"What do you really think will happen with Taeyang and Seokwoo now?" He asked me.
"Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they really got away. I mean, they said it themselves, their father is pretty rich. But still, I think that deep inside, they didn't want to kill Inseong. Taeyang even said it a few times, it was just an order from their twisted father. After all, is there really someone in this world who enjoys killing others?" I stated.
"Oh, I could name a few people..." He said and smiled distantly, but then I noticed his smile slowly fading. "Still, I'd like to see Taeyang locked behind bars for an eternity, he deserves it even if he didn't really want to kill Inseong. I feel like proving he's guilty would avenge Yerin in some way..."
