The cold autumn wind made its way through the cracked window in my room. It smelled of the forest after a hard, night storm. I felt it brush my cheeks as I opened my eyes. It was two days after the incident with Leon and God help me how hard it was to avoid him, especially when he was just a few meters away from me. Like when I saw him in the toilet as he was leaving, shooting me a deathly glare or when I was heading to my room. He would always come from nowhere and try to kill me with just a stare. I wished to never speak to him or get in any contact, but he made it impossible. It seems like Maria putting him to sleep put him in a nasty mood. Perhaps it was because he felt defeated or maybe because he didn't get a chance to destroy me as he promised. I truly wanted us to be strangers so I wouldn't have to think about protecting myself 24/7.

My legs touched the cold floor, and I cringed. Today is the first day of the Academy and assuming that I am excited about it is a misunderstanding. I am petrified if not anxious. Tonight was one of the worst nights I had since forever. I would flip from left to right, from right to left thinking about my classes. There will be no mixing of students and classmates remain the same for every lesson, which makes me somewhat scared as I will have to spend the next three years with Leon and his friend. However, at least my best friend will be there. No one knows me as well as Katey does. She has her ways of calming me down or making me laugh. I would find it hard to believe that there could be another Katey somewhere out there. This woman is irreplaceable. Suddenly, I heard a loud bang coming from my door. It didn't stop after one, it kept repeating itself, and it made me a bit alarmed. I could only expect one person to act like that. I slowly made my way towards the impatient stranger and lazily pulled the handle down, opening my door only to allow a slight crack.

"You are up! Great, take a shower, change into uniform, eat breakfast and let's go!" I think I was more than shocked to find Katey instead of Mister Angry. What's gotten into this girl?

"What?" I asked, full of confusion.

"It's ten past seven. Our first-class start in fifty minutes so hurry." She explained, trying not to squeal too loud. She jumped up and down full of excitement. I would expect her to be happy rather than scared of today. It's her dream to finish this Academy and help others. People like us.

"Hey! Pumpkinhead shut it." I peeped out from my room to notice Leon leave his. He had a grin on his face which wasn't something unusual. His hair was standing in every direction as if lightning struck him last night. I wouldn't be complaining if it did. My eyes caught his shirtless body, which caused my cheeks to change its colour to rubin-red. I've never taken notice of how muscly this guy was, and I have to admit he does have a fantastic body shape.

"Quit staring Stalker."  He growled in my direction, making me take a step back. What the hell am I doing, looking at this dipshit? I watched him disappear around the corner and continued talking to Katey.

"I will be downstairs in fifteen, okay?" She nodded and gifted me with a warm smile. After the ginger girl left, I grabbed my stuff and went to our shared bathrooms. The only good thing about it was that the toilets were separated from the showers.

I let the water run down my body and prepare myself for today. It was going to be something new and refreshing, but I sure as hell wasn't ready for it yet. After washing my hair, I quickly brushed my teeth and made my way back to my room to get ready. The uniform was lying on my bed, waiting for it to be put on. It consisted of a white shirt, black and yellow tie, black blazer with Magnus herb on it and a knee-length skirt. I put everything on, including black knee-length socks and rolled my skirt up a little bit so it would be just above my knees. Then I packed my stuff into a black backpack and left my room.

Downstairs was full of people. Everyone chatting with each other, enthusiasm shooting from their eyes. I spotted Katey explaining to Michelle how much she wants to start the lessons and use her powers. Then my eyes scanned the rest of the room noticing Valentina with Tanaka on the couch listening to a story Max was telling them. Right behind them were cheerful, Jake and his less happy friend, the douchebag of our Academy- Leon. He had a lousy aura all around him, making everyone glare once in a while. Yet Jake was immune as if his joyful personality made a barrier to protect himself from Leon's corrupt powers.
