Ariella POV
It was the last period of the day and I was sitting in the back of the classroom, waiting impatiently for the damn bell to ring. I looked over at Jessica who was sitting on my right, texting on her iPhone.
"Jess." I whispered to her.
"What?" She answered, looking up at me.
"You coming over today?"
"I got practice, I'm sorry." she said sincerely.
"You always got practice, man."
"I'll facetime you later, I promise."
I hesitated to answer at first, but finally responded, "Alright."
4 minutes.
I look back down at my desk, where my D- grade on my Physics test was staring back at me. Senior year just started and I'm already failing. I roll my eyes and ball up the paper. I looked around the room and saw Jayvaughn sleeping. I took the balled up paper and threw it directly at the back of his head, scaring him awake. He immediately looked back at me with a death stare. I chuckled and shrugged at him. He picked the paper up and threw it back at me, but missed and hit Jess in the face. She jumped up angrily.
"Who the fuck just threw that!?" She yelled out loud. Everyone looked at her, some people a little frightened. Jayvaughn turned his head in the other direction, hiding his laughter.
"Jessica, sit down." the teacher said to her firmly. Jess rolled her eyes and slowly sat down.
"Jay did it." I told her.
"I know he did, with his hoe ass." I laughed quietly and shook my head.
1 minute.
I started packing my things so I could get out quickly. I fixed my hair, knowing that Jacob was going to be waiting outside for me. The bell rang and I quickly grabbed my bag and walked out. I went to my locker to get my jacket, but Jacob wasn't there, when he usually is. I looked around to see if he was close by at a water fountain or talking to a friend, but I still didn't see him. I assumed he was down the hallway at his own locker, so I walked down there to check. What I saw, nearly brought tears to my eyes. Sure enough, Jacob was at his locker, kissing and touching on some other girl that I've never even seen him talk to before. I storm up behind them.
"Jacob!" I yelled as I pulled him away from her by his shoulder. He turned around with a shocked and sad expression on his face.
"Ariella, I can expl-"
"Save it, Jake." I interrupted him as I looked over at the girl he was making out with. She had beautiful, dark skin, long curly hair, and an hour glass figure. "So, this is what you wanted." I said looking back at him, who had now come closer to me. "This is who you've been 'busy' with!?" I yelled as I roughly pushed him against the lockers, causing a loud noise that brought all attention to the hallway to us. I could feel my blood heating up the longer I stood there. As Jacob fell back into the lockers, he quickly gathered himself, but continued to stare at me with his mouth open, trying to get words out that never came. "You know what, fuck you." I said as I raised both of my middle fingers in his and the girl's face before running towards the closest exit. As I ran down the long hallway, I heard a familiar voice call my name.
"Ariella! ....Ariella!" Jay repeated. I stop running when I get outside the doors. I was out of breath and leaning against the wall with tears running down my face. Am I not good enough? No, you never are.
"Ariella!" I heard Jay yell again, busting out of the school doors. I looked up at him with an expression that told it all. When he saw me crying, I could tell by his body language that he was ready to beat someone's ass. His body tensed up and his fists started clenching. His eyes were translucent. But before he would react, he tried to comfort me. "It's Jacob, isn't it?" He asked rhetorically.
