A New Hero

The next morning Marinette woke up and went to hug Luka, only to find that the bed beside her was empty. She got up and rubbed her eyes, trying to stifle a yawn. "Good morning sleeping beauty." Luka said from the other side of the room where he had been lookin through her designs. ""Good morning." Marinette said groggily. She then got out of bed and walked over to Luka. "These are some really cool designs Marinette." Luka said, continuing to look through her sketch book. Marinette only nodded as she sat on his lap and snuggled into his chest. Luka smiled as he looked down at her adorable face. "Your parents made breakfast and there's some waiting for you in the microwave if your hungry." Luka said thinking she'd probably be hungry. At the mention of food Marinette had gotten up and started to go down stairs to eat. Luka watched as she left and continued to look through her sketches.

After Marinette had finished eating she returned upstairs to shower and get ready for the day. She chose out a cute outfit and got in the shower. After she got out and she had dressed she applied a little bit of makeup and put her hair up on a bun. She then exited the bathroom and grabbed her bag. "Ready to go Luka?" She asked him after giving Tikki something to eat. "Yup lets go." He replied as he stood up and grabbed his jacket. They then left the house and started walking to where Master Fu was. When they arrived Marinette opened the door and beckoned Luka inside. "Master are you here?" She called out into the quiet building. "I'm back here." Came a reply from one of the side rooms. Marinette and Luka walked over to the room and entered. "Ah Marinette it's nice to see you again, and you brought someone with you!" Master Fu said when they had both entered. "Master this is Luka and we were wondering if you would be able to grant him a miraculous." Marinette explained quickly. "Come here young man, let me get a good look at you." Master Fu said to Luka. After he examined Luka he thought for a moment. "Marinette choose the miraculous that you wish to give to this boy." He said, opening the box holding all the miraculous. Marinette walked over hesitantly and examined the miraculous before her. She made up her mind and grabbed the snake miraculous. "A fitting choice Marinette, the snake miraculous will grant the wearer the power of second chance. Second chance lets you go back in time to when you trigger it, and you can go back at any point in the five minutes you have until you detransform." Master Fu explained to them. "But the wearer must not use this power for their own selfish needs or the miraculous will be taken away." He added making sure that the miraculous wouldn't be used in the wrong way. Marinette and Luka both nodded their understanding. Marinette went over to Luka and handed him the bracelet, he put it on and a green light appeared flying around him. When the light stopped he saw that it was a small creature that resembled a snake. "I am Sass, and I will be your kwami." The small creature said. "I'm Luka it's a pleasure to be working with you." Luka said, to the kwami. "Hey Sass it's been a while." Tikki said, flying over to talk to her friend. "Thank you Master for trusting us enough for this responsibility." Marinette said, happy that Luka would be fighting by her side. "Let's head over to my place now." Marinette said to Luka. They said their goodbyes and left to go back to the bakery.

Once they arrived at the bakery Marinette saw a note left out for her. Marinette, we're leaving for the airport, we waited for as long as we could to say goodbye but we had to leave otherwise we would've missed our flight. We left some food for you on the stove if you get hungry. Love Mama and Papa. Marinette folded the note and put it in her pocket, noticing that Luka was looking at her. "My parents are going on vacation and they left before we got back." She explained quickly. She then grabbed his hand and pulled him upstairs to her room. Tikki flew out of Marinette's back and sat down on her desk. Sass flew out of Luka's jacket and turned to him. "Would you like to transform?" Sass asked, knowing he would say yes. Luka nodded, waiting for instructions. "Just say scales slither." Sass told him. "Sass scales slither!" Luka said, preparing to transform. He was enveloped in a green light and transformed. He took a moment to look himself over, he was in a green scaly suit and had a harp on his back. "First things first you need a name." Marinette told him. Luka thought for a moment. "Viperion." He said, deciding that it suited him. Marinette seemed to think it over before nodding her approval. "Would you like to go on your first patrol and learn the ropes of being a hero?" She asked him. He nodded enthusiastically. "Tikki spots on!" Marinette said, transforming into Ladybug. "Let's go then." She said jumping off her balcony and using her yo-yo to swing to the next roof, Viperion jumping after her.
