Laura's POV.
The man named Logan leads me towards a giant door inside of the school.
Mr. Logan looks back at me, "Stay here for a second, kid." he tells me.
"Come on in, Logan. And bring little Laura in too." a voice calls from inside the door. It was the same voice I heard in my head.
Mr. Logan growls, "I hate when he does that."
Mr. Logan opens the door and we enter the room.
It was a giant room with a desk, many bookcases, couches, and a coffee table. There were many, big windows that brighten the room. I guess it's in between morning and afternoon.
"Hello Laura." the voice says again. I look to see that the voice belongs to an old, bald man in a wheelchair. "Quite the observation you've made about me, Laura. But I'm not just an old, bald man in a wheelchair." I hear snickers from Mr. Logan and another old man in the room. "My name is Professor Charles Xavier, and I run this school."
Professor Charles Xavier? Why is that familiar? I wonder in my mind.
The Professor smiles sadly, "Laura... I don't know why my name is familiar to you. I honestly do not. But if you stayed here, instead of running, maybe I can help you." he says.
I look from the other old man to Mr. Logan to the Professor. I nod in agreement, I trust you, I think to the Professor.
2 hours later...
The entire school has been shown to me. It was an okay place, but I couldn't get myself to get close to the students. I didn't trust the students the way I do the teachers.
Now, I'm sitting in my new room watching the students play outside. The students' abilities were very strange, but beautiful in their own way too.
There was a knock, "Kid? Sorry, Laura? Can I come in?" I hear Mr. Logan.
I get up and open the door. I look at Mr. Logan.
"Come on, Laura, the Professor says you have to eat something." Mr. Logan says.
I shake my head.
"Why not?"
I look towards the end of the hall where you can hear the students come running in for dinner themselves. I back into my room more.
"Oh... the kids." Mr. Logan sighs. "Alright kid, sit down." I sit down and he sits next to me. "Look, I understand that you're afraid of the students, but you have to eat. You might not want to be around them, or want to like them, but you at least have to cooperate with them. Alright?"
I nod a little bit.
"Okay, I'm going to be across the hall in my room." Mr. Logan says before getting up.
I get up and grab Mr. Logan's arm before he's able to go to his room. He looks at me, "Please don't make me go alone." I whisper shaking a little bit.
Mr. Logan was shocked for a moment before bending down a little bit so we were eye level. "How old are you, Laura?" he asks.
My vision blurs and wet stuff seeps through my eyes. "I don't know... I don't know anything. I don't remember." I say before I begin to silently cry. I couldn't remember, and that's what I hated the most.
Mr. Logan pulls me into a small hug and tries to calm me down. "Come on, kid, I'll go get you some food. You stay in your room and calm down. Alright?"
I nod, "I'm sorry." I whisper again.
"Don't be. I know what it's like to not remember."
