it was nights like these that made you forget about all your worries or problems. you were cuddled up against draco in your common room, the fire pit before you illuminating your face and spreading heat throughout your body. the room was silent, the air consumed in a comfortable silence. draco's hand slowly traced your spine over and over again, emitting shivers from your body as you lie upon his chest.
small, but noticeable, smiles were painted in both of your lips as you stared at the fire in the content.
you have known draco since your first year at hogwarts, and you had met him through pansy, an old friend that used to be obsessed with him. she had become an old friend indeed when year four came along and you and draco discovered your feelings for each other. he had asked you to join him one night for a walk, since neither of you could sleep, and you obliged, following him through the castle corridors and out into the gardens. nights like those had soon become a tradition, and the more you got to know draco, the more you fell for him.
one night, as the crisp breeze of hogwarts air swept through your hair and the tips of draco's cheeks turned red under the moonlight, he finally spilled everything he had been feeling for you right in front of you. little did he know in that moment, that you felt the same way about him. you both acted upon your feelings, and started dating. you had waiting a bit at first to make it official, draco being slightly wary of his parents assumed opinion upon the matter of their son, a true slytherin born, calling a ravenclaw girl with big, expressful eyes, his girlfriend.
a lot had been going on since then witht eh two of you. his parents grew angry towards your relationship when they had found out about you, just then figuring out that you were a ravenclaw girl. draco had defended you every time they would comment on the love you shared for each other or insulted you. he didn't like the way they treated you, because you didn't deserve to be treated that way. you were one of the brightest girls draco had ever met, if not the brightest, and to him, your beauty was immeasurable.
you were perfect in his eyes - as was he in yours - and he made sure you knew that every minute that you two were together.
"draco?" you whispered through the silence, a sudden idea popping into your head.
draco snapped his head down to look at you, the light of the fire illuminating half of his pale face, mimicking a dark, orange complexion. "yes doll?"
you smiled at his pet names, always enjoying when he called you any of them. "i want to make something." draco's eyebrows furrowed in confusion, but before he could say a word, you say up from the floor and dragged him up with you, pulling him outside into the cold air and through the gardens of the castle. "but first, i want to roam through the gardens."
the icy air bit at your cheekbones and ears, your body shivering at the slight crisp winds that flowed through the air. draco immediately caught up with you as you began to skip, a smile lacing his lips. he skipped his left arm around your waist and stopped you from getting any farther, causing a squeal to leave your mouth as he pulled you to his chest.
he stared into your eyes for a few moments before he noticed them flicker down to his lips, and he took that as a sign of approval before smashing his lips onto yours. the body heat you were both providing each other contrasted fairly well with the cold, and as you wrapped your arms around draco's neck to deepen the kiss, you almost didn't want to move from your spot.
however, as you felt draco's lip glide across your bottom one, you pulled away with a smirk, draco groaning at the loss of physical contact. you giggled lightly under your breath when he glared at you, and continued to move through the garden, but not before teasingly slipping a finger through his belt loops and dragging him with you.
he stayed silent, expressing his distastefulness in you pulling away from his kiss, but let you bring him with you. he didn't know where you were bringing him, but at the moment, he didn't care. all he focused on was how your hair ruffled through the air as you walked and the slight bounce of adventure in your step. he definitely didn't care about anything else, but you in this moment.
draco watched as you pulled him back inside the school, hauling him through a corridor on the east side of the castle. almost immediately did draco figure out where you were taking him. this hallway led to one thing in all of the castle.
the kitchen.
"oh bloody hell, you're going to cook something, aren't you?" he inquired, rolling his eyes when you looked back at him and glared towards his tone of voice.
"actually, no. we're gonna bake something. something that has to do with the holidays. you explained, quietly slipping your way through the kitchen doors and leaving draco behind to run to the fridge.
he watched you grab all the ingredients you wanted: the gallon of milk, two eggs, the cake mix and a large bowl to mix it in, flour, icing, a whisk, a cake spatula, and a pan. he eyed you as you looked back at him with a grin plastered on your face.
"you ready, big guy?" you teased, opening the box of cake mix and pouring it into the bowl.
draco shook his head, "we're going to get caught. it's four in the morning and we should be getting to bed."
as you listened to him worry, you reached behind you to grab your wand, waving it lightly through the air and casting a spell over the kitchen. draco looked at you quizzically.
"no need to worry, my slytherin prince. i've casted a spell over the kitchen so that if anyone were to walk in, they would neither see you, me, or our ingredients." you explained to him, continuing what you were doing.
after a few minutes of standing alone and watching you mix all the ingredients together, draco walked over to you and stood by your side, sending glare stares your way after you ripped open the bag of flour, causing the white, messy ingredient to fly everywhere, staining your colored clothes white.
"oh no, i am so-"
"i'll get you back for that!"
before you could get an apology out, you felt a fistful of flour hit your face, making you gasp in utter shock. slowly, draco withdrew his large hand from your face, revealing your shocked, now ghostly complexion to him. immediately, he laughed loudly, doubling over before you. you stood still, sending daggers to the back of his head. he hadn't noticed you move from your spot, too busy drying from laughter to look up at you and catch the fistful flour from your hand before it could be thrown upon the back of his head.
he froze instantly, his laughs going silent and his body going still.
when he didn't move for a solid three seconds, you tried to make a run for it, but before you could get away, he tugged back to him, pulling against his chest and grabbing more flour from the bag.
"DRACO!" you laughed, wrestling against the arm that was wrapped around your slim waste, but your efforts were to avail as he held you still and threw tons of flour over your head.
you gasped, your eyes widening and your body bending forward to reach the flour and throw some behind you, successfully getting him in the face. draco groaned and moved away from you suddenly, and you looked back in concern to see him shielding his eyes as if he'd caught flower into them.
"oh no, please don't tell me i hurt you!" you yelped, grabbing arm and trying to pull his hand away from his eyes.
as soon as you got close, however, you realized he had tricked you. you groaned loudly, and laughed, flour flying everywhere as the two of you wrestled against each other.
the wrestling went on for a little while, up until you heard the door to the kitchen slam open. you and draco froze at the sound, and you looked towards the door to see professor snape glaring straight at you.
"WHAT IN THE BLOODY HELL IS GOING ON HERE?" he yelled.
It turns out the invisibility spell you had casted upon the kitchen had not worked.
