...The week arrives, the week we fly out to Bora Bora. It's 3:00 am and Emma and I are sitting on my bedroom planning what we will do while we are there. And so far, our list is, jet skiing, snorkelling, chilling and swimming. And being honest, that's all we're going to end up doing. As well as the tickets, Emma and I put in some money to get a go-pro for the trip.

"We've been up all night planning this and our flight is on Friday," I say tiredly.

"Yeah, I know, but it's good to be prepared in advance," she replies, "have you packed yet?"

I point over to a suitcase lying in the corner of my bedroom.

"You've only packed half of it!" She exclaims.

"I know," I say.

"We're going to finish that right now," she says and crawls over to the suitcase.

I follow her and we finish putting bathers, toiletries, clothes and shoes in the bag.

"And boom! You're done!" She says zipping up the suitcase.

"I'm going to bed," I say and I crawl over to my bed and curl up in it.

My eyes flutter open and I see Emma asleep on the floor. I roll my eyes jokingly. I told her we should've gone to sleep earlier. She grumbles and rolls over towards me. Her eyes flicker open briefly.

"Morning sleepy head," I tease.

"It's Thursday," she mumbles.

"Yeah wow, no shit," I joke.

"We're leaving tomorrow!" Emma says and sits up rapidly.

"Oh my gosh, it took a bunch of scientists to figure that one out didn't it?" I tease.

"Oh, shut up!" She replies.

I stand up and walk over to my wardrobe.

"What do you want to do today?" I ask.

"We should stay here and just chill the whole day," She says sleepily.

I nod in agreement and sit back down on my bed.

"Do you want me to go get some food?" I ask.

"Yeah, grab some chips and pizza," She says as she reaches over and grabs her phone.

I walk out of my bedroom and down the stairs. No one but Emma and I are awake. I walk into the kitchen and grab a bag of chips and a box of pizza from the fridge. I grab a bottle of pineapple juice and carry it back upstairs.

"You're a bloody legend," Emma says looking up from her phone.

"And you're bloody lazy!" I joke.

"Oi!" She retorts.

"I'm joking! I love you Emmy! No homo," I say with a smile.

"Wow thanks," She jokes.

I place the snacks and drink down on my bed and Emma opens the bag of chips. She grabs a handful and shoves it into her mouth.

"Charming," I say as I lean across the floor to grab my phone.

"I'm hungry!" She protests.

I giggle and unlock my phone. I see a message from James,

James: Morning boo xx

Me: Morning! You excited for tomorrow? Xx

James: Heck yeah! Should me and Chris head over and sleepover tonight?

Me: Sure, why not? My parents will be fine with it haha

James: Cool see you soon xx

I exit messages and open Instagram.

"Oi Emma, smile!" I say and I take a photo of her.

I post it with the caption,

morning bestie! Can't wait 'til tomorrow!

I turn my phone off and grab a handful of chips. Emma grabs the bottle of juice and takes a large sip.

"Save some for me!" I protest.

"I will!" She replies.

But I know she won't, so I grab it out of her hands and I tip it to my lips and take a large sip. The rest of the day goes past just like that, and before we know it, it's mid Friday afternoon and Chris, James, Emma and I are boarding a plane to take us to Bora Bora. Emma and I sit together and Chris and James sit in the row in front of us. Emma gets the aisle seat, as her legs are really long, and apparently, she generally prefers the aisle seat. I look out the window dreamily. This doesn't feel real, none of this. Four friends flying off to another country without parents, wow.

A few hours into the flight and we start flying over the Pacific Ocean. My stretch out my legs underneath James's seat in front of me. I then wrap my arms around the chair and start tickling James.

"Stop," He whispers jokingly.

"Ok," So I stop.

I look over at Emma, she's asleep, of course she is, she stayed up all night last night trying to organise this trip. I smile softly and continue listening to music in peace. When we get to the cabins over the water, we decide that James and I will share a cabin and Emma and Chris will share a cabin. When James and I get into the cabin, we change straight into our bathers and we run out to the deck where we jump off into the crystal-clear water. James wraps his arms around my waist and throws me into the water. I let out a shriek as the cool, crystal water craps around my body. My head falls under the surface of the water. The soft waves gently pull my hair through the water.

I surface the water. James jumps in after me. And tries to pull me under the surface of the water. He succeeds and my head falls underneath the water again. He kisses me then releases me. My head breaks the surface of the water again and we continue jumping on and off the balcony. Once Emma and Chris go back to their cabin, James and I continue swimming.

"Emma's changed," I say softly.

"What do you mean?" James asks in confusion.

"I don't know, before she moved she was so I don't know, depressed, but she seems so happy, and she was happier without me obviously," I reply.

"She missed you, you know that," James says.

"No I don't, I don't know that," I say sadly.

I swim over the the ladder and haul myself out of the water. I walk inside and get changed.

"Katherine!" James calls after me.

But I don't reply. Suddenly I hear footsteps out side the front door. I open the door and see Emma standing there.

"Oh! Uh, Katherine!" She says.

"Um, yeah? Do you need something?" I ask confused.

"I uh, I need to talk to James," She says nervously.

"He's out the back," I say annoyed.

Why does she want to talk to James...
