Breaking Free

Chapter 7-Damian

Rundown of today:
Marinette woke up, Marinette freaked out, I kissed Marinette. I have officially had my first kiss, and it was amazing, and with the girl I fell in love with after knowing her for a few days. Well, we got to know each other when she came over to the manor. Marinette and Chloe are superheros. They have the Ladybug and Bee Miraculous, which are pieces of jewelry with tiny gods attached to them named Tikki and Pollen. Jason and Chloe like each other. I am currently in a bet with Marinette to see if they end up dating at the end of the week. God, why is this so hard to wrap my head around.
"Damian.....Damian.....DEMON SPAWN!!!"
"WHAT?!?"
"You spaced out on me. Plus, don't think I saw the goofy smile on your face." Jason said with a smirk.
"I don't know what your talking about. I am looking for the doctor. Marinette needs her doctor. Chloe was suppose to grab them, but never came back."
That stopped Jason in his tracks. "What do you mean?"
"Chloe left, while Marinette and I were talking. She didn't come back, I thought she was with you."
"No, I will find Chloe you find the doctor. Keep an eye out for anything."
Nodding we split up. I scanned the hallways carefully as I walked down. The hallway was more crowded than usual. Then I remembered something.
I had a friend. He was like my best friend, my brother of sorts. But then, he started getting really clingy, I told him off multiple times, and every time he asked me out. He wouldn't get the hint.

No. That can't be true. I rushed back to Marinettes room. Forgetting the doctor, and rushing back to her room. When I got there the door was open. Nope. I refuse to believe anything is wrong. I slowly opened the door, and sighed. Marinette sat there with a book in her arms and Tikki on her head. She looked up at me and smiled.
"Hey, you find the doctor? Or Chloe?"
"No. Jason is looking for Chloe now. It just feels off. Chloe was suppose to be with Jason, but she never found him. And Jason was in the waiting room whole time. Something just doesn't add up."
"I know what you mean. When you left, the door was closed. Someone opened it on there way by. I have been watching, this one doctor walked by six time in the last twenty minuets. Call me crazy, but he looked like he was watching me."
"What did he look like?"
"Like I know him."
I raised my eyebrow. "Who?"
"Adrien Agrest. He was a friend but it turned toxic after he kept asking me out."
"He's that guy?"
She nodded. "Yeah. Chloe, Kagami and Luka have been able to keep him at bay so far. So I don't know how he found out about me moving here. If he touched my parents I am going to kill someone." Marinette had this look in her eyes that told me, she wasn't bluffing. I sighed and sat in the chair. I pushed the call nurse button and waited.
"Don't worry Mari. Jason will find Chloe and then we can get you out of here."
"I hope your right." She said as she gripped my hand.

Jason

I looked every where and I can't find Chloe anywhere. Where could she be? I walked down the hallway three times and found nothing, till I saw her phone laying on the ground. I picked it up and frowned. Someone has Chloe, and they are going to pay. I rushed back to Damian, who was in Marinettes room. When I rounded the corner I saw a doctor with blond hair and green eyes. He had scratches on his arms and on one side of his face. He looked me in the eyes and smirked.

"Hey, doc. Are you here to check up on Marinette?"
"Yes, it should be a quick check up. I have to check her stitches and make sure they are still in tact."
"Cool, come on in."
I motioned for him to enter. He took two steps in before Marinette shrieked.
"What are you doing here?!"
"What's wrong Puurrrincess? Aren't happy to see your knight?" The doctor smirked and stepped closer.
"Adrien, what are you doing in Gotham? And why are you dressed as a doctor?" Mari was looking all over the room. Fear evident in her eyes.
"Come on. A kitty can't come visit and see you."
"Not you. And you know why." Mari crossed her arms and frowned. "Where's Chloe?"
"Safe."
"You did this last time. Give Chloe back, or the scars on your back is the least of your problems."
"No can do. You ran off without a goodbye. And Lila has no friends now. You have to come back to Paris. Plus Hawkmoth isn't active anymore."
"You know why he isn't active and that's because of me. Now give Chloe back, and leave me along."
This Adrien fellow, took a step forward and Damian stood between him and Marinette. Something was very wrong with this guy.
"Someone tell me where Chloe is?" I yelled
"If I had to guess, supply closet or strapped to a bed in another room." Marinette stated, as if she knew this already. "That what he did last time. Kagami made sure her sword sliced you nice and deep for that."
"Come on Marinette! This is getting ridiculous. Your our everyday Ladybug, you stand for good."
"Yeah, and you all made me look like a villian, when I applied to schools and jobs. I got fired from babysitting, because you, Alya, and Nino thought it would be funny to put bad reviews on my website. Not only that one, but for my fashion store. So sorry Adrien, grow up. I don't love you, GET OVER IT!!! Leave, or I am calling the police. And your father can't make it go away this time." Mari smirked
"Do you need a late night visit instead. Plagg would love to see you again."
"Plagg can visit me when I tell him to. I am the Guardian now. No thanks to you."
"The cataclysm was meant for the wall, not him or you."
"He wouldn't have to push me out of the way, if you had been good and done what he told you to do. If you come back, I will take Plagg from you, for good this time."
The edge in her voice rang through the air. The threat sinking in. I stared at Marinette, the shy bubbly girl, that was a badass.
"Chloe is down the hall, third room on the right."
I ran out. When I made it to the room Adrien had said, I heard shaking on the other side of the door. I opened it and saw Chloe strapped to the bed, duck tape over her mouth and tears streaming down her face. I rushed over and released her bindings. She ripped the duck tape off.
"Mari? Is she ok?"
"Yeah, Damian is with her. Are you ok?"
She took a few deep breaths, the tears slowing. I grabbed her chin with one hand, and forced her to look at me. Her icy blue eyes met mine, and all the emotion she was trying to suppress were still swirling around. Fear. Anger. Hatred. Loss. Uselessness. And the lingering effects of Haunted.
"Are you ok?" I asked again
She shook her head. She tried to look away, but I held her chin firmly in place. She is going to talk whether she likes it or not.
"Talk to me....Please."
She sighed before starting.
"Last year, Marinette and I were walking around town. We made a girls night out. We ate junk food, went to a movie, ate ice cream. We were having so much fun. Till, I headed to the bathroom. Leaving Marinette on her own. When I turned the corner, I was hit on the back of the head. I woke up in a supply closet at our school. I heard yelling from outside. One belonged to Marinette. The other was Adrien. He was yelling at Marinette. I tried to break free, and I couldn't I had to stand there and listen as Mari screamed and cried. When I finally managed to pull my phone out, I sent an SOS to Kagami and Luka. They were too late. Marinette sprawled out on the floor, blood was running from her head and arms. When I got out, Adrien had multipul cuts on his back, and Marinette. Marinette had cut up her arms and had a nasty cut on her hairline. Whatever he did, was bad enough for three of the cuts to get stitches and have Master Fu heal her. She has barely any scars. That is why I am terrified. That is why I am always by Marinette's side, why I didn't leave her alone."
I stared at Chloe for what felt like ever. I just keep falling in love with her. Where did that come from? I saw Chloe looking at me.
"Marinette came to stay with me after he broke into her house. It's also why she is here in Gotham."
I pulled Chloe into a hug. She was too strong for her own good.
"It's not your fault. You couldn't do anything." I told her.
"I should have fought harder. I should have-"
"Nope. Stop right there. There was nothing you could do. Look at me."
Chloe looked at me again. "You need to stop worrying about everything. You are a true friend, but you need to have some fun too."
"Do you mean with you?"
I blushed "I-I- I guess you could say that. WAIT!!! I didn't mean that. Wait, yes I did! No...dang it!"
I was too busy scolding myself, that I didn't hear Chloé burst out into laughter. When I did, i was even more red. She kept laughing, tears were coming from her eyes.
"I'm— sorry— I— can't breath!! Oh my— ok, I think I'm good for now. Thanks Jason. By any chance are you free Saturday?"
I looked at her, like she grew two heads. "Yeah?"
"Meet me at my hotel at 7 o'clock. We are going out."
I stared. Did she? No! Did she really?
"Did you just ask me out?"
"No I told you, we were going out. That way you can't say no."
I laughed. "You stole my thunder!! I was going to ask you!!"
"What?!?"
"Yeah. And it was really cheesy too. I had flowers prepared and your favorite candy on stand by. Anyway let's go check up on Mari."
I was about to leave when Chloe grabbed my arm and twisted me around. I was shocked, but the next thing surprised me the most. She stood on her tip toes and kissed me. Not hard or passionate, just a quick peck on the lips. She was about to leave, but it was my turn. I pulled her back and kissed her. Deeply. I put all the passion I held in, into that kiss. And she responded with one of her own. Kissing like this, felt amazing. I moved a hand and entwined our fingers, the other cupping her cheek for better access to her lips. I lost track of all sense of time. When it ended it felt like seconds, but it was minuets. I smiled a goofy smile and headed back to Maria room. Our fingers still entwined.
