Richard Tozier looked around the room. He knew he wasn't ready for this. He was aware he'd know who he was living with, he still didn't want to be in a dorm, or in college at all. He'd come a week early, he was so nervous he'd called the school to see if that was an option. They said no at first, but Wentworth Tozier grabbed the phone and within minutes, Richie had permission.

For now, Richie was waiting for Bill to show up. He'd already been told Bill would often be staying with his girlfriend, she chose to rent an apartment with her money from acting gigs. Her roommate didn't mind Bill staying there, Richie wondered how. He would never be able to deal with that soulmate shit. Richie didn't even have a soulmate. It was pitiful, but he couldn't escape it. He'd met plenty of people who saw red, but nobody was for him. As a gay teenager with no soulmate, he stood out a bit.

He looked at his comforter. It was a twist red tie dye, his pillows were white, along with his sheets. He kept an arrangement of flowers, fake of course, specifically red chrysanthemums, begonias, roses, etc. Basically any red flower he could find. He had shelves of books and 10 small red beanie baby bears from each of his friends, this was an unspoken tradition, every valentines day they'd do this to make up for his lack of soulmate. He kept the most recent year's on his bed. He had 5, friends that is.

Although, he'd been texting a friend of Bill's. Bill introduced them online, but he didn't go to the losers' school, his mother sent hime to a private school to 'protect' him. This boys name was Eddie. Richie guessed he should consider that his 6th friend. Edward Kasbrack. Richie didn't even know what this boy looked like, how is he supposed to call him a friend?

To distract himself, Richard looked up the clock on the wall. The clock read 12:46. Richie watched the red hand that counted the seconds go around the clock. After a couple minutes he looked down at his phone. Bill was supposed to be at the dorm 18 minutes ago.

His mom is gone and he doesn't want to uber

I'll bring him, hope that's okay

Richie stared at his phone, Eddie? He never mentioned what college he was attending. Richie looked back at the clock. "Fuck"  He walked to the door, tying up his overgrown black hair. He knew something like this would happen, as soon as they set a time for the losers' lunch. He was always late, but it was never his fault. He walked, but he could only focus on Eddie. This boy is kind, and actually listens to Richie. He was so vulnerable with Eddie because he didn't think he'd ever meet him. He kept thinking of what would happen. Would Eddie want to be his friend now that he knows how he looks, or how he acts when not typing on a phone or a laptop.
