Grow through what you go through.
We followed Mr. Tushman into a small room. He was talking as we entered his office. I ignored him of what he was saying. As I looked around in his room I saw a lot of decorations. Like a globe, a rubix cube- type cup made from little glass mirrors. I could tell Auggie likes his office a lot. I on the other hand didn't care one way or another.
Mom sat down in a chair in front of Mr. Tushman's desk. As I sat down I saw Auggie stand next to mom. As Auggie asked him a question I fidgeted with my fingers. I guess you could say it's a habit of mine.
I got lost into my own world until I heard kids' voices. I tensed up. I'm not a very social person except when it's my sister.
A woman came into the office. "They're here." She said.
"Who's here?" Auggie asked.
"Thanks." Mr. Tushman said to the woman. "August and Nora, I thought it would be a good idea for you two to meet some students who will be in your home room this year. I figured they could take you around the school a bit, show you two around.
"I don't want to meet anyone." Auggie said. "It's not like we have much of a choice." I mumbled so only I could hear.
"It will be okay August. These are nice kids, I promise." I only rolled my eyes. No one is nice to us when they meet my brother. No offense to him. I heard mom whisper sweet stuff in Auggie's ear.
Soon Mr. Tushman got up and opened the door revealing three kids. "Come in." Mr. Tushman said. Two boys and one girl came in. None of them looked at my brother. They all looked at me mainly. Both boys looked at me like they admired me. The girl looked at me with a hint of jealousy. I raised my eyebrow at them and they looked away.
"Thanks so much for coming!" Mr. Tushman said. "Especially since school doesn't start until next month!" Now I realized something. These kids didn't want to be here. Someone asked them to come. Ugh.
"So, guys, I wanted you to meet August and Nora. Who's going to be new students here this year." "This is Jack Will." Mr. Tushman pointed at the dirty blonde boy. Jack Will smiles and waved at Auggie. For me he said hi and waved. "This is Julian." The black haired boy stepped up. "Hey." He said chill-like. For me first impressions are basically everything and he made me dislike him already. "And Charlotte." A really blonde girl stepped up. She just waved and stepped back with a forced smile.
With a little explaining of the place the kids took us on the grand tour.

The five of us went down a long hallway to some stairs.
When we got to the top of the stairs we went down a hallway with many doors. Julian opened the 301 door. "This is our home room." He said standing in front of the door. I just stood there and rolled my eyes. I say he was taken aback by that but he put on a smile. "We have Ms.Petosa. They say she's okay. At least for our home room. I heard she's strict if you get her for math." I nodded my head.
"That isn't true. My sister had her last year and she said she's nice." Charlotte said. "Not what I heard." Responded Julian. "But whatever." He shut the door and walked to another room. "This is the science lab." And again he stood in front of the door. I was so close to pushing him to the ground.
Julian mainly looked at me while he talked. Which was a little unnerving. "You guys won't know who you have for science until the first day of school. But you'll want to get Mr. Haller. He used to be in the lower school. He would play this giant tuba on class."
"It was a baritone horn." Corrected Charlotte.
"It was a tuba!" Answered Julian.
"Dude, let them go inside see they can check it out." Jack Will finally said.
"Go inside if you want." Julian said and got out of the way.
As we went inside Julian quickly moved away from Auggie like he was carrying a disease.
"Nothing much to see." Said Julian. He had started pointing out things and saying what they were. "This is a gross science poster. This is chalk. This is the eraser."
"I'm sure they know what an eraser is." Charlotte said. That moment she reminded me a lot of Via.
"How would I know what he knows?" Julian said defensively. "Mr. Tushman said they've never been to a real school before."
"You guys know what an eraser is. Right?" Charlotte asked. We only looked at the floor.
"Hey. Can you two talk?" Jack Will asked.
"Yeah." Said Auggie. I only nodded.
"You know what an eraser is right?"
"Of course."
"I told you there was nothing to see here." Julian said. I shrugged.
"I have a question. Um, what exactly is a home room? Is it like a subject?" Asked my brother.
"No, that's just your group." Responded Charlotte. I saw Julian smirk. "You know just because we are homeschooled doesn't mean we are stupid." I said to him and changed to my American accent. His smirk instantly faded. "That's what I thought." I said and walked to look at the teacher's desk. I heard Jack Will laugh and I don't know why but that made me happy.
"Ok, let's get out of here." Said Jack Will. I saw Julian trying to get away from me as soon as possible.
"Wait, Jack we're supposed to answer questions." Charlotte reminded him. He turned around. "Do you have any mare questions?" He asked, looking at both of us.
"Um is your name Jack or Jack Will?" Auggie asked.
"Jack is my first name. Will is my last name." He responded and we nodded.
"Ha! He thought your name was Jackwill!" Julian laughed.
"And I thought you were smart. Guess we were both wrong." I said to Julian. He instantly shut up and even looked a little guilty.
We exited the room and went the performance space.
(Nora will be using her American accent until I say she isn't. Soo...)
