I didn't want to back away from this. I needed anything to distract myself from home right now.
Is that all she is to me, a distraction?
I don't know, nor do I exactly care right now.
She stopped.
"What's going on, Marie. I expected you to turn away?"
So, she did that, expecting me not to accept it?
"You're an idiot." I said, standing up.
"No, I'm sorry. I just mean, you've been avoiding me so I've started to believe that you hate me."
I grabbed arm and pulled her up.
"I don't know what it is about you but for some reason, I keep wanting to come back to you."
I start to brush her face. I want kiss her once more but, I can't keep giving her the idea that I can be pushed over so easily.
"Why were you crying?"
I don't know what to say. It's none of her business, I can deal with my situation on my own.
Unexpectedly, she pulls me in once more and I find my lips locking with hers.
I want to push away so badly, but it feels as if I've lost control over my own body.
I pull her into me more and lean her onto the bench.
I stop, remembering that we are in public and at any given time, anyone could potentially see us.
"What's wrong?"
I remain silent, as I sit up.
"We are girls, this is wrong."
I begin to sit up but she tugs on my sleeve, signaling that she wants me to sit back down.
"Who cares about genders? Love is love, right?"
Love? But nobody has ever given me love in my life so how could she? I mean, I've only known her for a week.
I've lived with my mother over 17 years yet, nothing. She's shows no appreciation of me being in her life.
But then you have Cassandra, no matter how much that I have hurt her in the short span that I've known her, she's been there for me.
I just don't understand it.
"Hey Cass.. Can I stay at your place tonight?"
"Since it's the weekend I'm sure my parents won't mind. Follow me."

We finally arrive to her home. It seems to be around 3 stories so it is large compared to what I live in, which is an old trailer.
We walk inside to see what seemed to be her parents in the living room.
"Mom and Dad, this is Marie."
They stood up and greeted me.
"We've heard a lot about you, Cassy talks about you non-stop." Said a women who seemed to resemble Cass in many ways, which means she must be her mother.
