My Childhood Friend Can't Be My Girlfriend

Chapter 1

Have you ever fallen in love with your childhood friend? The one that's always beside you through thick and thin? The one who will always support you when you lose your way? Well I, Taku Mamoru, am experiencing falling in love with a childhood friend but the thing is....our relationship is quite complicated and I'm actually having a hard time getting close to her....But I will do whatever I can so that I can finally confess my feelings...is what I want to say...but apparently I'm not doing any progress....

"ding...dong....ding....dong!"

As I hear the sound of the lunch bell I took a quick glance at the girl in front of me...those silver hair that sparkles in front of me suddenly sways and she turns and looks at me.... with that scary glare that could make you break a sweat...this is my childhood friend. Hana Misato, and as you can see she's not really what you can call a wonderful and cheerful person...and not to mention she also talk with a monotonous tone and without any expressions showing.

"What are you looking at?"

"Umm...no I was just you know checking on you haha...." I said in a tense voice

It might not be important to say this but when I saw her eating the lunch box I made for her I was quite happy...but well I just couldn't say it.

"Do you have any plans after school?"

I quickly asked to change the topic.

"I have club activities..."

"I see...alright then"

After I said that on the back of my mind was the depression I had for not being able to walk home with her.

"Ding...dong...ding....dong...!"

As lunch ended we went back to our seats and after a few lessons finally it's over. Since I couldn't go with Hana I immediately went home only to be stopped by a girl in front of me and said in a loud voice....

"Hey stop!! Why are you going home alone?"

"No reason I just wanted to be alone."

"That's definitely a lie!! Just tell me why!!"

By the way this annoying girl is my close friend, Mami Kanzaki,from our class and you could say that she's quite short for her age but she has quite a loud voice and is quite the ferocious girl. As her long brown hair and big eyes sharply glared at me in anger...I gave up on making an excuse and just told her what she wanted to hear...

"Well yeah Hana still has club activities...why? Wanna walk home with me?" I said in a voice that seem to lack interest

"Well it's not like I want to but well if you really want me to come then I will"

As you can see she's a tsundere and well it's just a feeling but I think she's fond of me or maybe it's just my imagination. Then we started walking back to my place which also passes through Mami's home and well there was a quite an awkward silence....

"Umm so Taku-kun have you gotten any progress with Hana-chan yet?"

"....not really..."

"I see...you know you should just confess already to Hana-chan so thelat she will be able to understand your feelings and I think Hana-chan like you too"

"It's impossible...I need to break the shell in her heart first before I can confess to her."

"...But I can't ...
if you...." she said in a murmuring sound

"What are you saying?"

"It's nothing idiot!!".

After that without saying a word we parted ways and now I'm alone going back to my house...

"I'm home" I said after opening the door to my home and as usual nobody was there. My parents are usually late and will always work till late so I would always be alone at around this time....but that would not be the case since someone does come here well though that person will be late today.

"Ding...dong..."

This doorbell always bring me happiness because the person behind the door is most likely the girl that I adore and true enough as I open the door I see the same silver haired girl that I always see in front of me in class yes it's Hana Misato

"Welcome Hana, so what do you want for dinner today?"

"Hmm...I'll just eat whatever you cook"

Well I know that you're wondering why this is happening when I said that we have a rocky relationship...well basically this is something that we always do since Hana's parents are usually never home and the fact that she can't cook is also a big factor plus the fact that she just lives across my home...and as a result she would always come here for dinner which would also explain why I make lunch for her.

"Then please wait a moment just go to the dining room when I call you ok?"

"Ok then..."

As I prepared dinner I suddenly heard her talk to me saying

"Where you with Mami-chan when you went home?"

"Yeah she kinda wanted to"

"......."

It was suddenly silent after I said that and she just went away after that...ugh I can't really get close to her even if I try but I just wish that there would be a way for her to open up with me....just once....then I suddenly heard her say something

"Umm can you give me advice on something..?"

Maybe this could change our relationship for the good and finally I can become close to her again like when we were young just please I hope I don't screw this chance.
