Chapter three

So clone wars season 7 came out and I am personally not ready for it. Nonetheless I will be drowning in tears as I watch the final season (with popcorn of course). Also totally disregard the update schedule. I'm going to be updating randomly now, since I don't have time managing skills lol. So yeah, hope you enjoy the chapter. <3

~~~~~narrator POV~~~~~

     After the awkward exchange you had with the young Padawan you sought out Iris. To your surprise she and Captain Panaka were just lounging around. "So, this is what you guys do when Padme and I are out?" you arch a brow as they paused their card game.

"Well, don't blame us, it gets boring in the castle" Iris shrugs her shoulders lightly. Her curly brown hair was tied in a pony tail, probably so it doesn't get in the way of her concentration. She took gambling games very seriously.

"What did you bet this time?" You asked, taking a seat at the table. Panaka shook his head "we're just playing for fun, plus we can't really wager anything major given our situation" Panaka said keeping his formal posture.

"Whoever loses has guard duty tonight" Iris rolled her eyes as she placed down a card. Panaka frowned "So much for secrecy" he grumbled.

You chuckled and watched as they continued their game. Your mind wondered a bit, you had realized a lot of time had past since Qui Gon and Padme left to explore the desert planet. "When do you think they will return?" You asked with a worried expression.

"Soon I'm sure-HA I WIN" Iris announced as she placed a winning card down. Panaka threw his cards down and crossed his arm. "Not fair you clearly cheated" he sighed and turned to you. "They will be here soon. A sand storm had picked up earlier, but they found shelter." My eyes must have shown concern because he was quick to become the voice of reason, "If anything happens I'm sure Obi wan would let us know" he explained seeing as Iris was too busy celebrating.

You nodded your head, though hearing Obi Wan's name did manage to brighten your mood. You smiled, though it was the kind of smile you would give when you were somehow swayed by a suitor. Panaka knew that smile all to well, and he was understandably upset by it.

"Did something happen between you two?" He whispered so Iris couldn't hear. Nothing against Iris, it's just the last time you had ranted to her about something she went straight to Padme.

You Hesitated before answering his question "No...I'm just happy is all, is there something wrong with being happy?" You question back at him with a slight attitude in your voice. "Not when it's about a Jedi" He crossed his arms sternly. Sometimes Panaka could be very overprotective, which is good since his job is being a guard. Just as you were about to defend Obi Wan, the door slid open to reveal one of Padme's handmaidens.

"The Queen has requested for the princess to meet her audience" she gave a small bow and you just sat there awkwardly.

"Whatever it was, I swear I didn't do it this time!" You panicked, thinking you were in trouble once again. The handmaiden chuckled and shook her head "No, there's a transmission from Naboo. She wishes to view it with you" she explained.

You only nodded as you felt the overcoming feeling of dread return to the pit of you stomach.

     Once you had reached the room where everyone was waiting in, you took a deep breath before nodding to Iris to open the door. She stepped to the side as you to waltzed in, with Captain Panaka close behind. He gave a slight glare to Obi Wan as the of you entered.

You quickly took your place next the 'Queen' and gave her small bow. "Please excuse my tardiness, sister" you formally apologized as she nodded in reassurance.
