When I walked into the library, my eyes met Giono's eyes. He was studying with Anna. They looked up at me. Giono whispered something to her, and she giggled like an idiot. I kept walking looking straight ahead. I should feel relieved after all. That could have been worse. I spot my friends at the back of the studing room. Celestin was reading a popular manga City Hunter by Hojo Tsukasa, Maeva was reading the novel: The perfume by Suskind.
"Where the hell have you been?" Maeva said, looking up at me.
"You'll never believe me," I said, grabbing a seat.
I sighed, trying to calm down this freaking joy, looking around.
"What? Spit it out," she urged.
"I was with Anthony Morini."
"What?!No way," she said, widening her eyes.
"What the fuck?" said Celestin, setting his book on the table.
"I swear, crazy isn't it?" I smiled.
"How? I mean Holy cow, HOW on earth?" she went on.
"He asked me out," I grinned.
"What?" she frowned.
"Yes, what?" Celestin said, blinking.
"I know. It's crazy, but he really did. He asked me out tomorrow."
"How about Jennifer?" Maeva said.
"They're on a break or something. I really don't care."
"Hon, are you sure you're not ... you know. If you don't wanna apologize for being late, it's okay. You don't have to make up this whole story, you know."
"Thank you, Maeva. But I'm not a lunatic. I swear to God it happened. He invited me to his friend's party tomorrow night."
"Are you sure you didn't misinterpret his words?" she went on.
"Maeva for God's sake! I'm not a psycho. I know what he said."
"Tell me everything from the top," she said, squeezing my hand.
"Yeah, from the top," Celestin said, crossing his arms against his chest.
"Okay, so I was in the hallway, and he was on the other end with Jennifer. They were arguing I think, but we didn't talk about that. So, they were talking when, all of a sudden, he turned and looked me and came to talk to me and asked me if I wanted to grab something to eat or dink."
"No way. And what did you say?" Maeva said.
"I said : "Yes", of course! What else would I say?" I scoffed, nudging Celestin.
"Yeah. What else?" He grimaced at me.
"Wait, so technically you hung out?" Maeva said.
"Yeah!! Exactly, so we went to a bar uptown and had a milkshake, and a nice talk about our lives."
"No way! I can't believe it. You had a date with Anthony Morini. How is it even possible?" she said, looking at Celestin with wide open eyes.
"I don't know. That's crazy, right?" I grinned.
"The hell YES!" she said.
And we both burst into laugh. I looked up and saw Jojo walking in with his girlfriend Rachel. I waved him over, but he made a weird hand gesture and headed to another table far from us. Rachel looked at me askew and quickly looked away.
"What's the matter with them?" I frowned.
"They probably want some privacy," Maeva said, watching them.
