ray's pov

i was currently facetiming nate in the medbay, who was hanging out with behrad at behrad's house. he had to pretend he was behrad's college professor which i find funny.

"i miss you!" nate shouted through the screen.

"i miss you too!" i replied and the doors to the medbay opened and i turned around to see mick.

"get out." he grunted and i turned back to face nate.

"i-i guess i gotta go, i love you!" i said to nate and quickly covered my mouth with my hand once i said those 3 special words.

"im sorry, i just uh- blurted that out..." i said and nate smiled.

"no it's okay! it's okay! you don't have to be sorry, i love you too." nate replied softly and a huge grin appeared on my face.

"you do?" i asked.

"i said get out!" mick barked from behind me.

"okay i'll call you later bye!" nate said and he hung up the call.

"mick. are you feeling alright?" i asked a bit harshly.

"my stomach hurts. i can't eat, i can't drink." he replied.

"i think ally *is it ally or ellie?* gave me an std back at the reunion." he added and i gave a weird face.

"initiating scan." gideon said and started to scan mick.

"those aren't symptoms, they're feelings." i said.

"i think you're developing a crush." i admitted.

*later*

i was in the lab working on a new invention when the doors opened, i didn't pay attention to who it was. but then i felt a pair of arms around my waist.

"hi babe, whatcha workin on?" nate asked me once i noticed him.

"oh it's nothing." i said, setting it down and turning around to face nate.

"how was your day?" i asked him.

"it was fine, did you know that behrad has like a really hot sister?" nate asked and i raised an eyebrow.

"no i did not, she better not be stealing you from me." i smirked.

"never."
