nate couldn't stand the fact that amaya went back to 1942. he was nothing without her, all of his love for her. a few months after amaya left nate started developing feelings for zari. zari was everything you could ask for in a girl, she was pretty, funny and loves to eat food. but when she practically erased herself from being a legend and her brother behrad was a legend instead of her, it made nate's heart shatter. both of the loves of his love, just gone like that. nate cleared all of thoughts away when his room door opened.

"are you okay buddy?" ray asked. now ray... ray has always had a very special place in nate's heart. nate never wanted to admit it because he didn't want to know what ray would think of him then, but nate has always loved ray. not in the friend way but in the romantic way.

ray was the true miracle that was brought into nate's life, when nate and mick saved ray from the dinosaurs everything clicked. they started talking more and more and eventually became 'bros'. ray was so handsome, cute, funny, smart, kind and the most caring person in the world. it sometimes made nate's heart melt.

"nate? is everything alright?" ray asked again and that's when nate jumped away from his thoughts and took his face out of his pillow, he was laying face down into his pillow. nate realized he had a few tears running down his face so he quickly wiped them away before ray could notice.

"uh yeah im fine ray." nate gave him a small smile and ray returned with a big one. ray walked over to sit down next to nate on the bed.

"im sorry about zari. i feel like it's all my fault." he hung his head down low and pouted which was the cutest thing in the world.

"ray don't say that, i was the one who sacrificed myself to free you from hell. it was my choice to help you, zari should've just stayed on the ship like she was told." nate replied and put a hand on ray's back which made him flinch.

"i-im sorry n-nate it's just, f-first a-amaya then z-zari..." ray started sniffling and nate didn't think before he did it, but he hugged him from behind.

"it's okay big guy, let it out." nate told him and the waterworks started to flow, nate has never seen ray so emotional before. it hurt his heart to see ray so sad.

ray leaned into nate's chest, obviously not thinking about it first and nate was shocked for a second but soon relaxed with the man of his dreams in his arms. from all of the tears nate's shirt was soaked but he didn't care, not at all.

"o-oh im sorry n-nate i-" ray got cut off with nate's lips softly on his, ray was shocked but eventually kissed back and smiled. nate was the one to pull the kiss apart.

"shit im sorry ray i-" nate got cut off with now ray's lips on his quickly before ray pulled apart.

"ive always wanted to do that since the day you saved me from getting eaten by a dinosaur." ray said and the 2 laughed at the memory.

"ray ever since i met you, you have secretly been the love of my life. i just felt like if i told you, you would think of my differently." nate admitted and then ray shoved him.

"don't ever think i would not think of you any differently than i already do! nathaniel heywood, i am in love with you." ray said and nate smiled.

"raymond palmer, im in love with you too." they both gave big smiles to each other and went in for another kiss.

but what they didn't know is that gideon was recording the entire conversation and is preparing on showing the tape to the rest of the team.
