This all started two weeks ago. My best friend, Megan, gave me Austin's phone number.. She knew I had a crush on him, and I figured that this would all work out..

Two weeks ago, I texted him. And to my surprise, he texted back. We talked for four hours that night. And we've been talking ever since.

Me: Hey..

Him: Who is this?

Me: It's a surprise :)

Him: I like surprises, haha.. For real though?

I didn't know what to do.. I guess I hadn't thought this out.

Him: Don't ignore me. I'm fine with you not telling me.. As long as you confirm that you go to Bayside Prep.

Me: Yeah. I do. I'm a senior there..

He still asks who I am.. And I still don't know how I am going to tell Austin that's it's just me. Just Haley. Hopefully he continues to play along for a while.

It was a Friday morning, and I had just woken up to a text from him.

Him: Good morning.. Will I see you today?

Me: I guess that depends on if I let you ;)

Him: Unfair.. Haha. If I guess who you are, will you say yes?

Him: C'mon.. At least describe yourself to me..

Me: Um.. I will say yes if you guess me. But you won't.

Him: Ok, so when can I actually meet you?

Good question. What had I gotten myself into? I sighed quietly and got ready to go to school.

Every time I saw him in the hall, I couldn't help but smile.. Everybody wanted Austin. And I got the chance to talk to him every day. How lucky was I?

I couldn't tell him.. What if he didn't like me? Austin was popular. I was not.. The cheerleaders would freak. They already made my life hell. If they knew I was Austin's mystery girl, they would hate me even more.

I stared at my feet as I walked, tightly clutching my bag. I stared down at my phone, seeing that I had gotten a message from him. I smile softly, until I walk right into someone. The shock made me drop my phone- and when I actually looked up, guess who it was.

Yep.

It was Austin.

Austin apologized quickly, bending down to pick up my phone.

"No!" I quickly said, "uh, it's.. Sorry." I got extremely flustered, my cheeks turning red.

Austin laughed softly. "You ok there?" He smiled cheerfully, looking down at my phone.

The text.

My heart started pounding. I had left his text message open on my screen.

Austin's eyes scanned the messages. "You're my mystery girl?" He asked me.

Damn.
