Where am I? This doesn't look like my mind or current memories. Confusion was lacing through my thoughts. I decided to get to know my surroundings as there may be danger about. It turned out that I was back in 1812, in a small village with a narrow dirt road and stone fences around the lush, green grass, facing the direction that indicated this was the entrance. I had no idea where in the world I was because there was no sign or any other form of identification of the name of the place.
Of course, me being me, I decided to disregard the uncanny existence of a rather new mud puddle about a metre away from where I stood. This resulted in me being splashed by the oncoming horse and carriage that was trodding along at full speed.
"Hey! What is your problem?!" I basically screamed but the man did not stop or even slow down. It was like he didn't even hear me.
"Rude." I mumbled under my breath. After an eye roll and a look around for a possible witness to my lack of lady-like-ness, I checked my clothes to see how badly the mud stained my dress. There was nothing that resembled anything even slightly like mud, my clothes were spotless.
My head started throbbing, and I felt something tugging me towards the village through the stone entrance. Since I had no idea what else to do, I followed it.
As I got closer to the centre of the village, I began to recognise everything, down to the last speck of dirt. It was like deja vu but it felt more intense than just a feeling.
I felt another tugging in a different direction but decided against following it again. I took in every single scent wafting through the air at the moment and let them fill my senses. I noticed that two of these scents were oddly familiar. One, I could put a name to, Lucifer. There is no surprise that he was here during this era. Something about the sweetest tasting blood in the world. Yuck. I prefer mine bitter so I am reminded how much of a burden it is to have to feed on blood to survive. Anyway, the second familiar scent was unknown. There was not anyone I had ever met that smelt like that. Yet I had the feeling I was missing something - that I knew this person better than I thought.
I did not realise I was walking until I reached a bar. This particular bar was rather small and smelled empty except for one worker and two customers, Lucifer, and the other person whose scent I could not recognise.
I could feel my wolf pacing in the back of my mind, restless and eager to come out to play. She had not shown any sign of life ever since I woke up from my enchanted slumber. I had a name on the tip of my tongue but I did not try to find out what it was because there were more serious matters to attend to. After a few moments of thinking it over, I decided to mask my scent and stay in human form, not that it would help much. The scent which I could not recognise had a powerful aura to it.
I gently pushed the door open, careful not to make any noise, and slipped into the quiet, almost empty bar. The worker smelled like Lucifer and had bite marks on her neck that were made to look like a mark of love, so it turned out that the worker was human and was being used as a blood bank. Go figure.
There was a girl here with Lucifer and for some reason, it hurt, more than I would like to admit to myself. So, I decided I did not want to find out who this girl was and I wanted to leave at that moment. But just as I was about to go, the girl turned around and to my surprise, it was none other than...me.
