3weeks later...

"Have you booked the flight for me Son?" My mom asked keeping the book she was reading on a table.

She asked me to book a flight for her earlier, Thankfully I did, if not... Hnmm I don't even want to think about how I'll be scolded from afternoon to the next day.

"Yes mom, I forgot to tell you earlier. The flight is by 11:30 am tomorrow" I replied turning my body at her direction.
She's going to Yola for a wedding or so.

"Okay! Thank you, I don't know when I'm coming back though. I'll let you know when I make a decision" she stated not looking at me because she already knows what I'm about to say.

"Seriously mom you're just going to leave me all alone here? You know I hate staying alone mom, and Amma is not coming back anytime soon" I complained.
"So please mom don't stay long okay?" I pleaded with puppy eyes.

"Is it my fault that you're staying alone? How many times have I talked to you about getting married son? You're not getting any younger you know that right? So please allow me to stay as long as I want" she huffed.

I knew it! She wanted to talk to me about getting married since a day after Rayyan's wedding, she just didn't get the chance to.... and now I gave her the opportunity which I'm regretting!

"Mom, I told you I'll get married when the right time comes, I'm just not ready at the moment." I stated with a growl.

"Hnmm, you've been saying that for how long now? I don't know what you mean by you're not ready honestly. The last time we talked about this you told me you haven't found a wife yet and what did i tell you? I told you to choose among your cousins but you said no!

"But mom I-" I tried to say But was cutoff by the deathly glare she's giving me.

She raised a finger and glared at me angrily.
"But what? Mm? I said but what?? I'm not done yet so keep quiet" she commanded angrily.

Okay she's pissed Off!

Then she continues....

"As I was saying, since you couldn't choose among them yourself I chose for you didn't I? I chose Batul because she's slightly different from the rest. The girl is madly in love with you but you're not giving her any hope. That girl loves you so much, she's nice and beautiful she doesn't have any problem with anyone, I don't think you'll find a girl like her" she complained

Wait until you meet Her! That Batul is nothing compared to Her.. I wanted to say but I kept my mouth shut...I smiled internally.

"But seriously Son what's stopping you from giving her a chance? She's ready to settle down can't you see that?." She asked tiredly.

"Mom, I'm sorry for worrying you like this okay? But I've already told you that I don't like her and I'm not going to marry someone I don't love." I sighed.

"It's not like I hate her or anything I just can't marry her, she's not the type of girl I want to marry.
Mom, I'm sorry for not doing as you wish I'm terribly sorry, but I just don't want to regret anything in the future you of all people should know what I mean" I said the last part in a whisper.

I don't want to repeat the mistake my dad made.
