The two decided to leave Loki on the couch and make breakfast. While working in the kitchen neither of the two spoke a word, both deep in thoughts and - in Tony's case - too tired to start a conversation.

After they had brought everything to the long table they used to eat at Thor left to look after his brother.
One after the other Bruce, Steve and the others arrived and sat down at the table. All of them looked sleepy and tired.
Sighing Tony sat down at his usual place and poured some coffee into his cup. He would need a lot of coffee today...
Some time later the door opened again and Thor came in and sat down at the table.
"Where is Loki?", Tony asked curious.
"He said he's not hungry", the God answered and stared at his plate.
At that point Bruce looked up in confusion. "Then he's definitely lying. Last night he looked like he hadn't eaten enough for months. He should be more than hungry..."
"Do you think he might be... afraid to join us?", Steve then asked and everyone looked at him in surprise.
"Oh, come on. We know him. Why should he be afraid of us?", Natasha said.
"Well", Bruce answered, "Maybe he knows that we are stronger than him - at least at the moment - and he would have no chance if we decide to get our revenge for the New York incident."
"That could be. But he has to eat something... Thor, could you bring him some food later?", Tony asked the thunderer. He nodded and the others decided to talk about the plans for today.

After a while they decided to inform Fury about Loki being in the Avengers tower. It would be best if he knew about this.

After breakfast Thor took a plate with a sandwich and some tea and carried both to the healing room.
Loki was awake and sat on the hospital bed, looking at the medical supplies curiously. As his brother entered the room he looked up and a small hint of a smile appeared on the face of the trickster. But his eyes were still completely blank, free of any emotions.

"I brought you some food - just in case you are hungry now." The older brother sat down on the bed and placed the food between himself and his brother.

The expression on Loki's face wasn't a happy one. He stared at the food like it was actually about to eat him. Thor noticed that and asked: "What's wrong? You must be hungry, Bruce told me you're highly malnutritioned."
There was no answer coming back from his younger brother, so Thor stood up and sighed. "I know you're feeling uncomfortable here, but you are going to stay at this place for some time... Or do you want to go back to Asgard?"
With panic spreading over his face the trickster looked up. His skinny body started shaking a bit and the older one looked at him both pityful but also with a slight hint of curiosity. He didn't knew what happened to him.
But he was determined to find out.
