Broken Petals

Ever seen a daisy?
The scent it leaves in your nostrils is hella nostalgic
The yellow center...
The white petals..
Yet still it isn't my favorite flower
Mine is a different one
One that leaves me melancholic
Deprives me of sanity
The scent it radiates is no longer enticing
I guess I starved it of water
The roots seem dry
The petals fell off
All I have are the nodes to nurture a new one
Probably this time I do things right
Tell the mother plant I'm sorry
I've been less of human
Ingesting everything to make me feel right
Tides do turn and I'm back at the doorstep of what I fear
Opening up wounds
I want things to end well this time
The tide to turn in our favor
Neither of us needs to Bear guilt or hate
No hard feelings this time
I love roses
I fancy a table adorned with the white ones
My pen feels safer
My head feels lighter
But my heart still holds a hurt I should numb
Probably a symphony kind of existed between us
But I guess all music has an end
The chords seemed to have no longevity
The melody... Well, it ends in imperfect harmony
I guess this chord progression can be changed.
The chorus sang far beyond the walls that created it
And the rhythm... Nostalgic.
